Editorial Review:
Product Description: Continuing in the spirit of its successful previous editions, the ninth edition of Beer, Johnston, Mazurek, and Cornwell's Vector Mechanics for Engineers provides conceptually accurate and thorough coverage together with a significant refreshment of the exercise sets and online delivery of homework problems to your students. Nearly forty percent of the problems in the text are changed from the previous edition.
The Beer/Johnston textbooks introduced significant pedagogical innovations into engineering mechanics teaching. The consistent, accurate problem-solving methodology gives your students the best opportunity to learn statics and dynamics. At the same time, the careful presentation of content, unmatched levels of accuracy, and attention to detail have made these texts the standard for excellence.

I found it easier to understand the concepts out of Meriam's book. I'm sure this is an important and useful text, but wow is it dense.
One tip: beg, borrow, or steal the solution manual for this text... the problems are absolutely, without question, infeasible without it. Others have said it: they're just too hard. I don't understand what he was thinking writing impossible problems. My 190 year old professor couldn't even solve many of them.

I was surprised how quickly I received the book and the good conditions of it.

The seller made amazon look good and made me trust in the sellers of new materials I try not to pay full price, so another hundred dollars I saved thanks to the seller. Just had to buy a slightly older edition. The book is immaculate and has the mini engineers rule which is useful.

You get what you pay for with this one... upon receiving the book I found the book is in new condition but once I opened the front cover the bindings were slashed and now my book is falling apart. Also, Amazon has done nothing to help me and now I have a completely value-less 150 dollar book that I won't be able to trade in at the end of the semester... My recommendation is just get your books from the book store.

I was unfortunate enough to use this book. If you are an undergrad run away. Yes if you study the book excessively it might help but it has crummy examples and getting specific information without reading the whole chapter 2-3 times is like pulling teeth.
