Editorial Review:
Product Description:
This clear, comprehensive presentation discusses both the theory and applications of mechanics of materials. It examines the physical behavior of materials under load, then proceeds to model this behavior to development theory. Containing Hibbeler’s hallmark student-oriented features, this book is in four-color with a photorealistic art program designed to help students/readers visualize difficult concepts. A clear, concise writing style and more examples than any other book further contribute to students’ /readers ability to master the material. A useful, thorough reference for engineers and students.

This book is not very helpful for the course I am taking. It doesn't do a great job of explaining subjects, although some of the examples are informative. I could definitely get through the course without this book, however.

Hibbler is a great author. He puts together a concise and easy to understand textbook. I wish he wrote the textbooks for all of my classes.

After taking a course using this book, I can confidently say that it is a very good choice. It is great for both reference, and learning in general--and I will happily use it for the rest of my engineering days. Very thorough, and essential for anyone who needs to know anything about mechanics of materials.

though it took most of the estimated ship time to arrive, the book was in fine condition
