I bought this book for the library at my church, which I take care of.I wanted to make sure that everyone had a chance to read this book and get its message. Greg M ortenson has a great story to tell and makes me want to do something to help in his effort to educate girls in Afghanistan and Pakistan.

I wish that every citizen from every country involved in the war in Afghanistan would read this insiteful, enlightening and incredible book. It gives one a true sense of what can be attained towards peace with just one person's efforts. Having travelled there some years ago, I find that Mortensen is dead-on right. The war and anti-war advocates should seek his advice before deciding any course of action.

I have been reading this book aloud, but my children could also read it themselves. The story is gripping and offers a great lesson in courage and commitment.
