Editorial Review:

Product Description:
His powers -- Inhuman
His passion -- Beyond immortal . . .

All her life, Ashlyn Darrow has been tormented by voices from the past. To end the nightmare, she has come to Budapest seeking help from men rumored to have supernatural abilities, not knowing she'll be swept into the arms of Maddox, their most dangerous member -- a man trapped in a hell of his own.

Neither can resist the instant hunger than calms their torments . . . and ignites an irresistible passion. But every heated touch and burning kiss will edge them closer to destruction -- and a soul-shattering test of love . . .

Though they carry an eternal curse, the Lords of the Underworld are irresistibly seductive -- and unimaginably powerful . . . Don’t miss this incredible new paranormal series from Gena Showalter!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - I loved it!
I loved this book! Couldn't stop reading it until it was over. A fantastic series you will get immediately hooked up.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Immortal warriors inhabited by demons was a creative idea, but the plot and conversations were ordinary. On balance it was ok.
STORY BRIEF:
This is the first book in the series about a group of immortal warriors. Centuries ago, the warriors opened Pandora's Box which caused demons to get loose. The Greek gods were angry at the warriors and placed one demon inside each warrior. Examples of the various demons are violence, wrath, pain, promiscuity, disease, disaster, misery, lies, and defeat. Each warrior must battle the influences of his inner demon. This book is about Maddox finding love with a human named Ashlyn. Maddox is a warrior whose demon is violence. Ashlyn has a psychic gift. When she enters a place she hears all conversations that have ever been said in that location. She is stressed because she has never had silence which she craves. For some reason when she is near Maddox, the voices stop.

Side stories include Hunters, humans who search for and kill warriors. Although warriors are immortal, they can be killed. Titan gods recently overthrew the Greek gods. The warriors don't know how this will affect them and change things.

REVIEWER'S OPINION:
I was intrigued with this new creature: immortal warriors inhabited by demons. There is a lot of potential with inner conflicts and controlling demon influences. It was different and interesting. But the rest of the story felt too much like other paranormal stories. I wasn't surprised or delighted enough to give it more stars. I wanted some kind of "wow" factor. Conversations and plot were ordinary. A goddess stepped in to solve some problems which seemed a little too convenient for me. I generally prefer my hero or heroine to do their own neat things to solve problems. This is the start of a series with questions to be answered in future books concerning the goddess, the Titans, the hunters and the missing Pandora's Box.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - It was OK
I got this book because the reviews were somewhat promising and I'm a big fan of paranormal romance. Well...this didn't actually disappoint, but I just felt like I was coming in late to a movie and missing something crucial. There are so many characters, but there is no real depth to any of them. The dialog is at times cheesy and repetitive and mid-way through the book, I forgot what everyone looked like because I was so focused on trying to remember everyone's names & demons. I guess I've been spoiled with JR Ward, since she spends so much time showing us the torture and depth of her characters. It's a decent book and it will give you that thrill that romance often provides. But, it's just ok, I'm definitely not hooked yet. I would recommend JR Wards Black Dagger Brotherhood series and Kresley Coles Immortal After Dark series.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Ahhh 3 or 4 Stars?!....
There are many uncomfortable "reader moments" that really bothered me...(you know where the flow just goes off track and you wonder if the same author wrote those paragraghs or phrases?), but overall I have to say I was very pleased with the story. The characters were shown in a very believable light, descriptions were top-notch...oh and the bedroom scenes were piping hot too!

I've noticed that this author has a very high fan count and high ratings, and hopefully I have the collection, or find the series of books that made her so popular because I really doubt it was this one....

I totally agree with another review ..."There's something about this book that keeps you turning the pages but it's not a great book which is weird..."

I was pulled between a 3 or 4 Star rating b/c there were like I said some parts that were just weird, and I couldn't (and obviously still can't) get over it. But the other parts of the book had me stuck like glue, so as always I'm fair...and b/c of the "I really couldn't put it down factor" 4 Stars it is!!!

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Best word to descibe it is EHHHHHH
Just coming off of reading JR Ward BDB series, Lara Adrian Breed series and in the middle of the Kresley Cole The Immortals after Dark series, I figured I would pick this one up while I was waiting for my delivery of Book 4 of Kresley's series and boy do I miss reading Kresley Cole!! This book has a very interesing premise, but is really under developed. The H/H fall in love or lust almost instantly, but then Gena spends alot of time developing small details and a ton of other characters, which leaves you wondering how the H/H fell for eachother so instantly and how their relationship developed. I am surprised that this has received so many stellar reviews, in my opinion it is just EHHHHHH. It took all I had just to finish it and I did finish it with lots of skimming. If you are looking for a new series and havent read Kresley Cole or Lara Adrian yet, try that first. While this isnt a horrible read, it just seems a little under-developed and had the potential to be more.
