Product Description: MacKayla Lane lies naked on the cold stone floor of a church, at the mercy of the erotic Fae master she once swore to kill. Far from home, unable to control her sexual hungers, MacKayla is now fully under the Lord Master’s spell.…In New York Times bestselling author Karen Marie Moning’s stunning new novel, the walls between human and Fae worlds have come crashing down. And as Mac fights for survival on Dublin’s battle-scarred streets, she will embark on the darkest—and most erotically charged—adventure of her life.
He has stolen her past, but MacKayla will never allow her sister’s murderer to take her future. Yet even the uniquely gifted sidhe-seer is no match for the Lord Master, who has unleashed an insatiable sexual craving that consumes Mac’s every thought—and thrusts her into the seductive realm of two very dangerous men, both of whom she desires but dares not trust.
As the enigmatic Jericho Barrons and the sensual Fae prince V’lane vie for her body and soul, as cryptic entries from her sister’s diary mysteriously appear and the power of the Dark Book weaves its annihilating path through the city, Mac’s greatest enemy delivers a final challenge.…
It’s an invitation Mac cannot refuse, one that sends her racing home to Georgia, where an even darker threat awaits. With her parents missing and the lives of her loved ones under siege, Mac is about to come face-to-face with a soul-shattering truth—about herself and her sister, about Jericho Barrons…and about the world she thought she knew.

This books picks up where Faefever left off and what a ride! I found it very fast paced and difficult to put down. It answers a few question but adds more. In the end you are looking for Shadowfever. I have thoroughly enjoyed this series. I haven't read many book that have made me think and wonder what's next as this series has. If you like twists, turns and wondering, "wow, where is the author going with this?" this series is for you.

This is the fourth installment in the "Fever" story (after DARKFEVER, BLOODFEVER, FAEFEVER). It's a continuation of the tale started in the first book and ends in a cliff-hanger, as did the previous segments. In the last book, MacKayla "Mac" Lane was captured by the evil Lord Master (or LM, there is a horrible predilection for acronyms in these books), and enslaved sexually by unseelie lords, so at the opening Mac is totally out of her mind and an insatiable sex machine. Meanwhile, Dublin, and in fact, all of humanity, is in huge trouble as the world of the fae has intersected with human reality and billions are killed by the dark things that are released. So where are the two powerful beings, the mysterious Barrons and the fae V'lane, who have been vying for Mac's abilities and attention? And how will Mac get her sex-crazed mind back to something sane? You'll have to read to find out.
However, readers who have come along so far can probably guess, since there's nothing that is that surprising if they've read the other books. And we get another cliff-hanger at the end. But the author claims the next book is the conclusion to this exciting but very drawn-out story. I thought this installment was a bit better than the last one (in which I was very annoyed that not much happened, aside from the fae and human world colliding and Mac being captured in the end. Not much character development, very few revelations. Of course, that might be said to be true of this part, too; however, I was so annoyed at the last one that I just checked this one out from the library and skimmed through it, not expecting all that much, so I wasn't let down at all. I felt Mac changed a little bit in this part, anyway, and her relationship with others changed a bit, so that was good. It might have been helpful if we got one or two questions answered, at least in part, particularly about Barrons, but no. Ah, well. As I said, I was more prepared for it this time around.
If you are the type who hates unfinished tales where you have to wait months (or a year) until it continues, then you'd better wait and read the five books after they're all published. Or if you want a bit more satisfaction per book, I'm not sure if I could recommend this. However, if you like reading about a kick-ass female heroine kicking supernatural ass with lots of sex thrown in and lots of unanswered mysteries, this should be right down your alley. Apparently the series has been optioned as a possible film. Sadly, I do think the content would suit a several-hour long film better than five entire books.

I absolutely loved this installment of the fever series, and wow what a beginning! The only issue I have is that I have to wait to see what happens. but that is part of the fun! Great development of characters, and what a dynamic the author has built up between Mac and Barrons. Love it!

I know it won't change her sales for the next book, but COME ON, another cliff hanger? This one went way too far, though. I totally believe she could have told us who it was (no, I won't say more and spoil it) and still left us hanging until the next one, but with a lot less angst.
Overall, I thought the book was great as far as action and sexual tension. Although, right up front, Mac gets as much satisfaction as a girl can get. Only to then question the motivation of Barrons. There was change, if not neccessarily growth in the character. Mac is turing a bit to the dark side. She even refers to her old self as the "pink" Mac and her new self as the "black" Mac. She also freaked me out a bit with her relax attitude with Dani. Anyone else think something is wrong with a sword/fae killing 13 year old who tries to watch porn and cusses like a sailor? I am getting tired of all the questions left unanswered and will be happy with the next book being the ending. Most of the time I want a good series to go on and on, but this one is truly driving me batty. I'm passed ready for answers.

I have read hundreds of books and rarely do I reread unless they are extremely enjoyable. Karen Marie Moning has quickly become one of my favorite authors. I started with the Fever series and then went back and read all of the highlanders which were amazing. In that series I loved Hawk, Grimm, Circenn, Dageus, Drustan and Cian but Adam Black was a cut above. In the fever series Mac is interesting and her adventures exciting. The writing is superb and the cliffhangers are immense. Dreamfever left me gasping for more. Sheer cruelty to make fans wait a year for the final book to find out what happens. I hope the amazing characters created in this series get a life of their own in novels yet to come. I must say there's nothing I like better than to seriously crush on the male leads in novels. Some of my biggest crushes are Mr. Darcy, Jamie Fraser, Jean-Claude, Eric Northman and Adam Black. But I must say Jericho Barrons makes my heart pound...I have reread Dreamfever countless times and keep going back for another peek. Give this series a try, you won't be sorry.
