Product Description: FBI agents Dillon Savich and Lacey Sherlock are back in this electrifying thriller from the #1 New York Times-bestselling author.
Seven-year-old Autumn Backman has a gift: She can communicate telepathically with others. Not everyone, mind you, but with a select few with whom she shares a special kinship. When Autumn and her mother, Joanna, take her father's ashes to be buried in the family plot in Brickers Bowl, Georgia, the child witnesses a horrifying sight: her grandmother and two uncles, burying a pile of dead bodies in the middle of the night. They head to Titusville, Virginia, to seek the help of an old family friend, but Autumn senses they need assistance on a grand scale. Using her telepathic powers, Autumn calls a man she'd seen only on television: FBI agent Dillon Savich. But before Savich and his wife and partner, Agent Lacey Sherlock, can get on the scene, Autumn and Joanna flee, fearing the retribution of her uncle Blessed. A huge manhunt ensues, with Titusville Sheriff Ethan Merriweather racing to reach the girl before Blessed can get his hands on her. Blessed's got big things planned for Autumn and her gift, and he'll stop at nothing to force her into his growing army of exploited children. Savich, Sherlock, and Merriweather face their most elusive foes to keep Autumn out of harm's way-before it's too late.

This book has been on the shelves for three weeks and is already in the remainder bins. You can buy the hardcover for $1.33 plus shipping. $14.82 for the Kindle version is unbelievable. Some listings Amazon should refuse when the authors are trying to rip off Amazon's customers.

3 1/2 Stars!
In "Knock Out; An FBI Thriller," a seven year old girl, Autumn Backman, contacts FBI Special Agent Dillon Savich after seeing a show about him on TV. She is able to contact him telepathically.
In Titusville, VA, Autumn runs away and hides in the home of Sheriff Ethan Merriweather. She tells Ethan that a man who goes by the name of Blessed is after her and her mother, Joanna. She also warns Ethan not to look into Blessed's eyes because he can control a person's thoughts once they look him in the eye.
Savich had disrupted a bank robbery and shot one of the robers as they were getting ready to kill the security guard. One inside robber escaped with the help of the person in the get away car. Savich is looking for them when Autumn contacts him again, this time she tells him that she needs his help.
We learn that Blessed is Autumn's uncle and that with his mind control ability, he wants to take her to his homestead so his family can benefit from Autumn's ability.
As Savich is attempting to help Autumn, the young robber and her cousin go to Savich's home to take revenge since Savich shot the girl's mother. However, the FBI have been watching the house and the two barely escape.
"Knock Out" is a fun read. The action never stops and the reader is caught up in the excitement. The author states that she is influenced by Agatha Christie and Michael Connelly among others; but in this novel, I see an influence of Steven King, most notably in his novel, "Firestarter."
Hop aboard for the ride. You'll enjoy it.

I loved the mental telepathy aspect of this fast-paced suspense with a little romance on the side. The back drop is in Washington, D.C., close to where I live. Interesting!! Dillon, the male protagonist, happens to be in a bank at the time of a robbery attempt, where a shootout occurs. A young 16 year old girl, Lissy, a member of the hold-up team manages to escape and vows to kill Dillon and the guard for killing her mom. This fact and a 7 year old, Autumn, with mental telepathy abilities, add fuel to the exploding excitement that keeps the reader glued to each page. This book is full of humor and wit along the way to add a little balance to the action packed suspense. .....Now to get back to MY writing.....Linda Masemore Pirrung, author of EXPLOSION IN PARIS...

I picked up Knock Out because of the editor's synopsis...the premise sounded interesting and I'm always looking for authors that I've not read; however, this book, and I'm assuming the others from this author, was a mess. The two stories were not related, there was no purpose for Dillon's role in Joanna and Amanda's story. Chapters and even paragraphs were often disjointed, with unrelated thoughts. The dialogue wasn't what one would expect if you were overhearing these conversations. It was all just very strange and frustrating. This book was poorly written. I won't be reading another Catherine Coulter book.
