Editorial Review:

Product Description:
The sequel to the beloved #1 New York Times bestseller, The Friday Night Knitting Club.

At the Manhattan knitting store founded by Georgia Walker, the members of the Friday Night Knitting Club-including Georgia's daughter Dakota, now a college freshman-continue to rely on each other for help, even as they struggle with new challenges: for Catherine, finding love after divorce; for Darwin, the hope for a family; for Lucie, being both a single mom and a caregiver for her elderly mother; and for seventy something Anita, a proposal of marriage from her sweetheart, Marty, that provokes the objections of her grown children. As the club's projects-an afghan, baby booties, a wedding coat-are pieced together, so is their understanding of the patterns underlying the stresses and joys of being a mother, wife, daughter, and friend. Because it isn't the difficulty of the garment that makes you a great knitter: it's the care and attention you bring to the craft-as well as how you adapt to surprises.

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - Pitiful...
A dear friend had loaned me The Friday Night Knitting Club several months ago and at its conclusion, I just wanted to throw the book against the wall! While my friend pretty much did not like the book, she went out, and even bought the hardcover edition of Knit Two.
Like the dear she is, she passed it along to me, saying this one was much better than the first loan.
While it is better...
It is ever so boring, ever so drawn out, ever ridiculous...
There are a few passages that are good writing but for the most part, I consider myself a true friend as I tried to get something out of this book.
My friend and I are both knitters...hence the sharing.
Kate Jacobs has commented that there was a demand for a sequel....
Look at the reviews...who demanded?

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - Sequel is not as good as Original
This sequel took a long time to get to the point of story development. One of the perks of reading on Kindle in that you can see the percent of the book read so far, and I noticed that we were a good 11-12% into the book before anything started to happen. It was as though the author was summarizing Friday Night Knit Club in that first part of the book, to the detriment of the story. I almost quit reading, but enjoyed the original so much that I was looking for a good read.

This time around the characters have less development, and the story is predictable. Sorry to say that this was a disappointment. The characters do not really grow, but seem as though they are set into a surrounding, for instance half the knit club trooped off to Europe, with some travel reasons being contrived. The author aims and misses at writing a book about meaningful interactions among women of different backgrounds and age groups. Unfortunately, the ending sure sounded like a Book 3 is coming. I will pass on that one.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Just Okay....Wanted To Like This More
I really wanted to like this series of books more than I actually did. Still an okay read, but didn't appeal to me as much as I'd hoped.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Knit Two sews the series nicely
For fans of The Friday Night Knitting Club, Kate Jacobs, brings us the sequel, Knit Two. Dakota is now in college at NYU, though dreaming of culinary aspirations and becoming a chef. Walker and Daughter is becoming a nuisance on her as people keep advising her on what to do with her life...isn't life hard as a teenager?...but with Peri running the store and making major improvements...all can't be too bad. Lucie has her hands full with a toddler and a budding career as a film director...and Darwin will soon deliver her own child as she teaches women's lit. Catherine's antique shop is in trouble...and KC finds herself working for a firm that once fired her...complicated lives for sure. Knit Two focuses mainly on the changes each character must go through as their lives progress...relationships, careers, motherhood, what have you...and the implications that go along with losing old friends and acquiring new ones. Georgia still plays a role as all the characters are still dealing with her loss and still searching themselves for the advice, Georgia, would no doubt shed upon them. I guess the overall theme of the book is to not let go of the past as you venture forward in life. The plot isn't as fun as the first, but I did enjoy the bonds of friendships and families, and of course, knitting......... If you haven't read any of the previous books by Kate Jacobs then I would recommend they be next on your "to read" list.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Great Sequel!
I loved the Friday Night Knitting Club and the stories of the characters. Kate Jacobs writing just flows and it is so easy to get into the characters. I was very happy there was a sequel and I could escape in the story again. I also enjoyed her other book, Comfort Food.
