Rating: - A total waste of your time and money I have given "Photoshop Elements 7 for Dummies" the absolute benefit of the doubt since I purchased it three months ago. I started to keep a list of real Photoshop Elements 7 functions that are not covered in this book, such as Surface Blur, but decided not to write an Amazon review so discarded those notes. However, today when I wanted information on using the High Pass Filter function for sharpening, and found it nowhere in the book, I felt obligated to write a review to prevent other potential purchasers from wasting their money. I don't know how they can call it Photoshop Elements 7 when many of the significant functions are not even mentioned. And the functions that are mentioned are covered so basically, and with no depth, so as to make the information of very little practical value. This book is a total waste of money. I plan to throw it into the trash rather than donating it to the Public Library because I want the patrons to choose one of the more valuable resources. Rating: - I think that what I really need is PSE 7 For Morons I've struggled to learn Photoshop before and I'm struggling again, even with this book. I think I need a more intuitive approach to learning PSE 7. This book is nearly 400 pages long and after an hour and a half I'm only up to page 11. Rating: - Disappointment Unclear "guide" for PSP Elements 7-can NOT recommend this book. I later purchased "Teach Yourself Visually" by Mike and Linda Wooldridge which has MUCH clearer instructions and I do recommend it. Rating: - Good Summary - Easy to Read - Helpful in Reviewing Skills One of the better Dummies' book and a good reference. I found it easy to read what I already knew from other books and training and I learned a few additional tips that I had previously missed from other training books. Not the ultimate Photoshop Elements 7 book, which I am still waiting to come out; but definitely a good second contendor and a easy read. Easy read is the "Dummies" touch to make it as user friendly as possible. Rating: - Close, but no cigar Does a very good job of telling you what each function is and does, but falls way short taking you to a logical conclusion. For example, it will tell you exactly how to use the Magic Extractor tool to make a selection, but never shows you what to do with the selection..
