In between reading her books I've read some more plausible readings. Okay maybe not plausible but you can see yourself as the main character and falling in love with some of these guys that drive you insane. I love Gena Showalter's Lord's books and Kresley Cole just kicks butt with her characters. Sherrilyn Kenyon got repetitive their for awhile ,but now she is back and kicking butt. There are just too many elements to Keri Arthur's characters. I read the last one ,but that's it for me. I'm sorry Keri Arthur ,but you lost me when Quin there then he's not. She cares ,but then she doesn't. I just give up chasing.At least with the other books it's not like their giving themselves out to everyone!! Theirs a story line and character line you can follow. I'm not saying she hasn't had any relationships. She has with the vampire(Quinn). Oh and even the Werewolf (Kellen) for awhile. It's like she has commitment phobia and her circumstances help her to keep her that way. This may be the book for you. She's starting to remind me of Emma Holly though. Sex, Sex, and how can I get it different, but you make up your own mind.

I usually go for the more vampire type books, and in this story it leans more about wereworlfs. With that said its not just about werewolfs and vampires. It's got all kinds of creatures I have never even heard of. Its very creative, and keeps you at the edge of your seat. I am totally addicted to the series!

Riley is just trying to survive and not worry too much about the future as fate has a way of twisting her wishes into nightmares or into burning denial that leaves a lasting scar. However, one thing Riley has finally given into is becoming a Guardian - not that she likes it, but it's better than the other options left to her due to her twisted heritage and blooming "gifts," not that Riley sees them as such.
The case she is currently working is taxing her to her limits in her tolerance for death and evil as she starts chasing after a killer zombie with a liking for teenage girls which leads her to a sorcerer and Kye, a man from her past that she'd rather forget. But Kye has been paid to find the zombie killer and being the mercenary that he is, Kye will not stop investigating even when his path crosses with Riley and the Directorate. Plus, Kye seems to have talents he shouldn't and a way of making Riley's hormones dance in a way that she hates.
To top it all off, she gets thrown into another case of a vampire killer that is mystifying as there seems no trace of the killer. As the mounting evidence still doesn't add up to any sensible answers Riley gets one of her famous "feelings" that the two cases aren't as separate as they appear, but will she survive to solve the puzzle?
Still, Riley has the ever-menacing Quinn still at her side, even if they have managed to achieve some sort of truce that works for them, it might be threatened by the discoveries Riley makes during the course of this investigation.
Deadly Desire continues the tale of Riley Jenson's complicated life as a Guardian and a half-breed wolf/vampire in a mesmerizing urban fantasy tale that will suck you into its universe and leave you wanting for more. As usual, Keri Arthur does a fabulous job of continuing to build upon Riley's world, which is parallel to the "known" world but containing elements that range from the mysterious to the frightening, and of course this installment has plenty of mystery, action and danger to keep you glued to the pages well into the night to find out just how Riley will survive this latest adventure. Riley is a compelling character as she is a mass of contradictions such as cherishing life, but being an efficient killer or being a powerful telepath and more while dreading the power would do to her. Riley will, as usual, keep you entertained with her irreverent wit and humor as she navigates the deadly supernatural world more easily than she would like and her ever-present romantic troubles. Balancing Quinn and her wolf nature is never easy and with the discoveries Riley makes regarding her wolf soul and her vampire heart things might just reach an explosive point. As ever Riley doesn't disappoint when it comes to action, adventure and explosive encounters with men - but wait until you find out just how is sharing the field with Quinn! I was absolutely mesmerized by Deadly Desire from start to finish, especially during the most confusing times when I floundered right along with Riley to understand what was going on and why her life seems to spin out of control every time something good seems to come her way. Pick up Deadly Desire when you are looking for a spellbinding urban fantasy read that will intrigue you and have you panting to catch your breath at its action packed, fast paced plot!
Note: Deadly Desire is the seventh installment in the Riley Jenson Guardian series, and while it can be read as a standalone much of the undercurrents and secondary plot would not be well understood.

Being the 7th in a series, I feel like the story is still as riviting as ever. The relationships for Riley and Rhoan have begun to remain stable which is nice considering that they both have lived in turmoil for so long. With decisions having been made that keep directing them both forward, seeing their abilities and powers grow is amazing. it offers laughs and tears and desires that you can't imagine.

SPOILER ALERT!!! Ok I have finally finished Deadly Desire the seventh installment in the Riley Jenson Guardian Series. I found this book slow until the end, then when it got really good and I could not put it down it ended. However I can not wait until the next installment in the series, it does not come out until October. Here is the excerpt from the back of the book.

Here is the real rundown. Riley is on the hunt for a vampire murderer using zombies to do their dirty work and comes across Kye's path (he was the guy that did some previous work for Anita's pack leader Blake) And at every crime scene he just keeps turning up and they both have to resist their desire towards one another. The case turns towards to two women who own a strip club. Riley has to go under cover as a stripper and get a job in the club where she can keep an eye on the two suspects and get a closer look at the club.
In the meantime Riley tells Quinn that he should take on other partners for blood because she has been feeling weak from al of the blood loss. Surprisingly this does not lead to an expected fight, he just says that he does not want to discuss it and that Riley is the only one for him.
Back at the strip club Riley runs across Kye again and they team up to get more info while resisting the increasing urge to be with one another. Riley and Kye sneak into an underground room where they find the place that the women conduct their sorcery and destroy their alter. They are immediately confronted by a half dozen zombies and the woman behind it all. Riley kills the woman but not before she shoots Kye. Riley was trying to get him to shift but he would not wake and then the second killer comes in and shoots Riley with a silver bullet. She wakens and is bound to a table with silver chains. She asks about Kye and discovers that he has bled to death and she suddenly wants to just curl up and die herself, which is shocking to her because she does not even like Kye. After a failed attack on the woman the door burst in an Kye shoots the woman dead. She is sooo relieved to see he is alive. The silver bullet in Riley's shoulder needs to be removed so Kye knocks her out to do the job.
When she wakes up she see Kye sitting in the comer of the room and tells him to go because she is calling in the Doctorate and he should not be there when they arrive because he is a hit man. He refuses to leave and tells Riley that before she calls it in they need to take care of some business. She knows that he wants to have sex and her urge so strong that she cant resist. Instantly they realize that they are soul mates. Riley does not know that to do because this is not what she wants so she just cries. Kye says that he does not want this either and that they should just go their separate ways. Anita agrees and they leave but she knows that it is not the end of Kye.
Anita has to go and tell Quinn that she found her soul mate and is afraid she will no longer want him anymore now that her wolf has found Kye. She hopes that her wolf half can have a soulmate and that her vampire half can have another. She does not tell Quinn right away because she wants to test the theory of two soul mates. As it turns out she is still attracted to Quinn and believes that she can have two soul mates if he is okay with her having another. She tells Quinn and he says that he has fought for her this long he had no intentions on stopping now, he just did not want to know who it was because he would kill him.
