Editorial Review:
Product Description: Robert Capa (19131954), one of the greatest photographers of the twentieth century and a founding member of the Magnum photographic agency, had the mind of a passionate and committed journalist and the eye of an artist. His lifework, consisting of more than 70,000 negative frames, constitutes an unparalleled documentation of a crucial twenty-two-year period (19321954) encompassing some of the most catastrophic and dramatic events of the last century. This book represents the most definitive selection of Robert Capas work ever published, a collection of 937 photographs selected by Capas brother, Cornell Capa (himself a noted LIFE photographer), and his biographer, Richard Whelan, who meticulously re-examined all of Robert Capas contact sheets to compile this master set of images.

Excelent book, although title is an overstatement:'Definitive Collection' does not cover the colour photo's of Robert Capa (see 'Capa in Color' by Magnum Photo's).

This is an excellent collection of Capa's work, it is organized well and one can trace his professional growth. I recommend this book with one concern: The publisher chose to use a font similar to a typewriter, to give the photos a feel for the WWII-era context... but the font is too light to read in many cases. Simply using a bolder typewriter font would have been fine, and earned this book a 5 star rating.
I know this may seem picky, but what good are the details of his life if they cannot be read?

This book is exactly what I hoped it to be. Despite the fact that you can find better Robert Capa's books in this one photos have been carefully and right chosen, so I would recommend it to other people
