Product Description:

Target. Observe. Ridicule.

You run into them every day—the striped-shirt guy, the karaoke master, the dude with a pencil-thin beard, the guy who won’t shut up about his fantasy football team—characters who annoy, irritate, and incense us all. Based on the wildly popular essay on ThePhatPhree.com by Mike Polk, this book is a look inside the heads of the most infuriating douchebags on Earth.

It’s the best of ThePhatPhree.com plus more than fifty all-new, hilarious pieces written by some of your favorite writers from this site.

Everyone’s (Least) Favorite, The Striped-Shirt Guy …
I will valet tonight! I will treat the valet with contempt and make sure that he knows that I am superior to him. I will tell him, “Take it easy on the brakes, champ”! When I do not hook up with a girl at the club, I will say that the place is “full of skanks” and wait in line at another bar, only to strike out again!

Your “Cool” High School Teacher …
Here are some things I allow in my class that other teachers don’t: eating, drinking,
swearing, dancing, smoking, fighting, cell phones, Texas hold ’em, iPods, and
sex. Like my Goo Goo Dolls tee? Anyone else here down with the Dolls? No? Me
either. I’m just wearing it as a goof.

The Guy with Amazing Taste in Music …
Personally, I haven’t listened to the radio in fifteen years. If you have ever heard a band
on the radio, then I can assure you, I am not a fan. I stopped listening to American music about ten years ago.

Average Rating: out of 5 stars

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Bad, just bad
This book is like an awkward porno that sucks but you dont want to throw out; it pretty much garbage but not worth the effort of throwing out. If you like short unoriginal reviews of "peoples profiles" type stuff this book is a home run; if your looking for enjoyment, you have better luck with a noose/ chair with loose legs...

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - Few laughs, if any.
There's not much to say about this book except that all of it is written in the same style of " Hey! im f-ing incredible ! i'm ready to tear this bar apart with my bare hands ! Do you think i'm joking ? I'm heroic in my own mind ! blah blah blah" (that's not in the book but EXACTLY how every single part is written)To me anyone could have written this simple book. I think the ideas don't stretch as far as the sphincters who wrote it. It could have been detailed a lot more and made funnier with cruder observations. It seems to be written in an innocent way that can be absorbed by "anyone" so they could possibly cash in on the general masses . If you like cynical humor and are truly misanthropic this book really lacks anything laugh out loud worthy. Simple observations for simple minds. Waste of money for the most part.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Has it's moments but is very uneven
Humor in books can be so hit or miss. And so it is with "Look at My Striped Shirt."

This series of essays skewering many of the most odious stereotypes we encounter (and some I never even knew existed) runs the gamut from laugh-out-loud funny to complete dud. Reading one page you will find others around you staring out you for laughing so loud and then you turn to the next and you hear the literary equivalent of crickets.

Like more and more humor books, this one is based off of the writings of a website, in this case thephatphree.com. You may want to visit the site before buying this if you are unfamiliar with their work and see if you find it at all entertaining.

Definitely worth a skim to see if you might enjoy it. Just don't expect the quality to remain high throughout. Recommended with reservations.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - more please!
HAHAHAHAHA - I just love this book (referring to the Kindle version)! Oh my god. I laughed from the beginning to the end. I saw coworkers in there, family, friends, and strangers at the store. All skewered by by some very accurate descriptions of narcissistic public behavior. Hilarious. Whoever the authors are, well, they need to write some more material. I'm happy to see that someone else on the planet has the same sledgehammer wit I do.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Good conversation starter
Found this book right after I had just put down "I hope they serve beer in hell". To tell you I was expecting a book with stories that moved from chapter to chapter, kind of like Tucker Max's book, but it wasn't. The book has mini stories of different people that you meet at the bar and then goes on to rant about what those people actually are. The book is a great conversation starter and gives some good ammo to shoot out during my own personal rants on those types of people metioned in the book. Although, some of the rants came a little close to me so I now I make sure to keep myself in check in those areas.
