Editorial Review:

Product Description:
Although Jack Hartounian (Jackie Mason) has made a fortune as a contractor, he must put up a fight so he and his daughter, Kate, can join the exclusive Bushwood Country Club. More than anything, Kate longs to be accepted by the club's rich members, who include her college roommate, Miffy. However, Miffy's parents, Chandler and Cynthia Young, mount a tough campaign to make sure the Hartounians stay out of their beloved club -- and they succeed. To get revenge, Jack buys the majority of Bushwood's stock and transforms the club into an extravagant park open to all. But the club's members still refuse to leave. Eventually, the confrontation can only be solved with a new money versus old money battle on the links.

Amazon.com:
Jackie Mason is the best thing going in this otherwise negligible sequel to the already-dubious pleasures of Caddyshack. Between the decadent and often senseless jokes, Mason plays a millionaire whose daughter wants to be part of an upper-crust society he has no use for. Directed by Allan Arkush (Rock 'n' Roll High School), there is some snap to the production; but the concept and script run out of juice early on. --Tom Keogh

Customer Reviews
Average Rating: out of 5 stars

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Far funnier than the original in every way...
So a piece of chocolate thought to be poop was really funny in the 1st.
But what is honestly funnier than seeing the guy from Unsolved Mysteries talk to some crazy guy who shoots an arrow in his behind and asks Chevy Case to suck the poison out? The "Mr. Sanderson" and "Mrs. Esterhouse" thing makes me laugh hysteristically. The effect of the gopher goes up a hundred notches, while character situations with the girl (people hear like there suits black) after high society, the father, his girlfriend, the one guys wife (don't make a scene my dear)...Dan Akyrod's character is beyond hysterical.
Perhaps because I am only 20 and first saw this movie when I was 13, and saw this one first that I prefer it, that perhaps watching the 1st seems like watching a similar movie rather than the other way around. But I find the rich people being forced to work at the construction site far funnier than a man just being hit in the lower region by a golf ball.
I was also not very moved by the relationship with the caddy's in the 1st with the pregnancy and silly "what a relief" scene that couldn't decide if it was meant to be serious or not. In this 2nd one, a non-similar but actually serious scene with the girl walking out on her father because of "you took a perfectly good country club and turned it into Coney Island" worked very well. I only felt comedy in the original and not much care for characters, while in this one, I got both. I need both of those for a comedy to work for me.
I do enjoy the 1st, but I love this extremely enjoyable sequel far better and do not understand all of the negative reviews at all. I really wish there was a Caddyshack 3.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Worst movie ever made.
Caddyshack will probably forever be one of the greatest golf comedies of all time. Caddyshack II will be known as the WORST golf movie of all time.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - I love this sequel
I loved this movie as a kid. Grew older and preferred the first Caddyshack and spit on this one. Now, I'm back to loving this one more.

What I love about this film is the old-school humor of physical slapstick, cartoon surrealism and character-driven story. Jackie Mason is great as one of the 80's weirdest protagonists. Robert Stack tops Ted Knight's sarcastic straight man. But the characters of Randy Quaid and Dan Aykroyd steal the show.

Summing the movie up: The last shot is of an animatronic gopher poppin' and lockin' to impress a poodle. Classic comedy.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - CaddyshackFan
Why would the exploding golf ball blow up when it apparently hits the melon and when it is struck by a putter, but not when it is hit by a titanium driver? Why would a gopher want to have sex with a poodle? You'll be asking yourself questions like these and will curse losing 99 minutes you can never get back if you watch this total waste of a movie. Worst...Movie...Ever.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Only if you're a collector and want to finish your Caddyshack series!
Seriously, I hadn't seen this movie for quite some time until a month ago. I bought it, thinking that it would be as funny as I remembered it 10 years ago. I was wrong. Everything falls short in this movie, except for Randy Quaid, who's a scene stealer. I'd only recommend this one for those people who collect movies and want to finish off their Caddyshack collection.
