An Inconvenient Book: Real Solutions to the World's Biggest Problems
Rating:5 out of 5 stars - Another great Glenn book!
Great insights from a man that really loves America. A good mix of humor and outrage at the problems that the leftists have caused for America.

Rating:1 out of 5 stars - New College is the #2 most hated school? Outrageous!
My one problem with this book: Glenn Beck listed New College of Florida as number TWO in his list of most hated colleges. Why, Glenn Beck, why? We deserve number one! I'm sure if you knew how our school really worked, you'd hate us more. I'm sure if you knew that our school pumps out more Full Bright scholars per student than Harvard or Yale, you'd hate us more. I'm sure if you visited campus to see how liberal we all are, you'd hate us more. I'm sure if you knew how much we all love you, and that we threw a "We Love Glenn Beck" party just for you, you'd hate us more. Please, Glenn Beck! Change your book! Hate us the best!

Rating:1 out of 5 stars - Glad to support freedom of speech, but here is my rebuttal.
Glenn Beck has effectively underrated the value of a liberal arts education. How is it that he has rated the New College of Florida #2 in his most hated "institutions of leftist learning", while the college has earned spots in the top-rated college guides in the country?? For instance, New College of Florida earned a #5 ranking in U.S. News & World Report and Forbes August 2009. Also in July 2009, New College of Florida had been named one of the country's best institutions for undergraduate education, according to The Princeton Review. It was named a "best buy school" in the 2010 edition of Fiske Guide to Colleges, which features 44 Best Buy Schools - 20 public and 24 private - in the country. And it was ranked by Kiplinger's Personal Finance as No. 8 among the nation's top 100 public colleges and universities in 2009 - the College's sixth consecutive "Top 10" ranking in Kiplinger's.
Not only does New College provide a rigorous academic experience, the school has the highest percentage of graduating students that receive Fulbright Scholarships (34 in the last five years). Most graduating students also get into the top national, and international, graduate schools. I'm sorry Glenn Beck, but the students who graduate from New College will be busy running the country when you're in a retirement home. Alumnus William C. Dudley was appointed chief executive officer of the Federal Reserve Bank of NY. An economics major at New College, he earned a Ph.D. from U. Cal., Berkeley in 1982. Alumna Nancy McEldowney, a career diplomat, was named by President Obama to become Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of State in the Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs. She graduated in 1981 with a degree in economics. Alumni John Wilke and Alexis Simendinger each received national journalism awards for their outstanding coverage of the U.S. Congress and White House, respectively. Alumna Mary Ruiz, president and chief executive officer of Manatee Glens Mental Health and Addiction Services, appointed by Governor Charlie Crist to the New College Board of Trustees. Her term runs from December 2008 to January 2010.

Rating:1 out of 5 stars - Total Hypocrisy
For a man who claims to be trying to let people make up their own minds, Beck has a wonderful way of telling his readers how to think.

Rating:1 out of 5 stars - Insulting and Unfounded
Allow me to lower the average rating of this book as much as I can and possibly dispel some positive hype about it.

Glenn Beck makes incredibly ignorant and unfounded assertions about my college in this "book". It's clear that he did no research whatsoever. He dismisses my school's grading system (which utilizes narrative evaluations rather than letter grades) as "cute", when in reality it can be pretty harsh. My school, which is an honors college, has a very low matriculation rate, but despite this, the majority of alumni go on to post-grad education. Mr. Beck's review is incredibly insulting, as I have put a large amount of effort into my education, much more so than students at other schools that I'm sure Glenn would approve of.

And, as far as my school being an "institution of leftist learning," the faculty and students represent a wide range of political ideologies. Many are, in fact, anarchists who don't really like Obama all that much and have a certain amount right-wing sympathy.
