Constantine Xenakis is giving a second chance at being a Bullet Catcher. He will not let anyone stand in his way. His first assignment is aboard the treasure ship The Gold Digger and his job is to flush out a thief. His first night aboard he spies someone slinking into the treasure room. Con catches Lizzie Dare red handed. It bothers Con that he is extremely attracted to the person he thinks is a thief.
Lizzie Date is aboard the Gold Digger trying to bring honor back to her ancestors. She is convinced that once she finds the artifacts she can correct history. But standing in her way is a sexy diver, Constantine Xenakis. Lizzie takes Con into her confidence when strange things begin to happen aboard the ship.
Con and Lizzie's attraction takes them into places neither had thought would come their way. They both have trust issues that keep clouding their perspective. The current danger to them both has them putting their trust in each other 100%.
Make Her Pay has everything I love in a Roxanne St. Claire novel. Hot and sexy heroes, strong and secure heroines and a mystery to solve. You will always enjoy the ride when you read any of her books.

Found innocent of stealing some missing diamonds, and thrown out of the famous Bullet Catchers, Con now wants back in. Needing an expert diver who just happens to be a master thief, Lucy is willing to give Con one more chance to prove his worth, hiring him to infiltrate Paxton Treasures on a super secret dive off the coast of Florida. All Con has to do is find the thief who's been stealing the recovered treasures from the famous sunken ship El Falcone, and he can have his old job back. For a man with his special skills, Con believes this job is a piece of cake.
Unable to believe his good luck, Con catches the culprint right away in the treasure room, but she's nothing like what he expects. In fact, it doesn't take Con long to find out that the very luscious Lizzie Dare may not be a thief, but she's definitely up to something. Lizzie is committed to carrying out her deceased father's work by reclaiming her rightful Dare legacy. The heat rises professionally and personally as Con and Lizzie race to recover the famed Bombay Blue Diamonds while trying to stay out of harm's way. There is, of course, the minor detail of their intense mutual attraction that neither can ignore, making this adventure that much more exciting.
Ms. St. Claire delivers another fast-paced, character-driven voyage, filled with her trademark romantic heat. Make Her Pay paints a distinctive portrait of modern day underwater treasure hunting mixed with vivid historical background, a hint of danger, and plenty of stimulating romance to satisfy the needs of her readers; that's what makes this effort so enjoyable. While the focus of the story is on the sizzling chemistry between Con and Lizzie and their personal agendas, there are plenty of fully developed shady characters, and a plot designed to give equal balance and authenticity. But don't take my word for it, go out to get this blazing keeper today, and find out for yourself.

Good sign of a bad book is when you can put it down and not pick it up again to finish reading it. I finally got to page 70 and said to self - enough. There are books worth reading waiting for me and this isn't one of them. Don't waste your time.

I loved all the Bullet Catcher books but this one. I couldn't get into this dive. I read the first 100 pages and then I got bored with the dive. It just wasn't my favorite and I loved her last book, Hunt Her Down.

Thank goodness it wasn't a long wait for this next book in the Bullet Catchers series. Make Her Pay is the story of Con Xenakis (I remember him from the book Hunt Her Down) and now he is trying to redeem himself as a Bullet Catcher and get back in Lucy Sharpe's good graces. He is such a bad boy. Since he was fired, the former Navy SEAL took up a life of crime, using his skills to steal anything from anyone to make a living. But here he's changed his stripes and wants to be legit, so Lucy gives him the toughest test - protecting the treasure recovered on a salvage dive. The problem is, someone on board is stealing it, and he has to find and catch the thief. He does it, and quickly, only to discover the "thief" is a very sexy young woman named Lizzie Dare and the treasure they are recovering might belong to her family. She trusts him, not realizing he's there to catch her, and enlists his help in beating "the man" who's trying to make money off the treasures. Another twist -- "the man" is the Bullet Catcher client!
It is such a ride. This is one of the most fun Bullet Catchers yet. Like all the others, it is heart pounding. The pace is non-stop and the tension is out of this world. Con is caught in the middle of his old life and the one he wants, completely ensnared by the feisty Lizzie, and definitely one of the sexiest men on the team yet. She is my favorite kind of heroine -- one with a cause she really believes in, willing to take chances and go "all in" to get what she knows is right and just. The settings are gorgeous, from the coast of Florida to the Azores, with lots of wonderful people like Lizzie's adorable younger sister and a sinister and creative killer. I inhaled this book in two nights and can't stand that there might not be any more Bullet Catchers. (Author says on her web site that she's starting a new series.) Highly recommend this thief and treasure hunter combination.
