Probably the best thing about this book is that it's both sympathetic to the movie and willing to look at some areas most "advocates" wouldn't look at. She's willing to look at the problematic aspects of Transcendental Meditation and New Age Thinking as well as the fantastic (as in wonderful) aspects. In other words, she lays things out as she sees them and assumes you're able to believe or disbelieve what you wish.
I would suggest this to everyone who has seen the movie this book is about. Any decision based on this will be informed.

I enjoyed the movie so much that my wife gave this book to me as a gift. I have to admit that it was a good book, just like the movie. The book offered an objective point of view regarding the participants in the movie. It also offered a good deal of extra information regarding each person which I truly enjoyed. I studied psychology and philosophy, so I naturally enjoyed this book. I suppose it may prove to be a difficult read for some, but I believe the author has endeavored to present some difficult topics in a simple and easy format. However, there are certain references that assume you to know or be aware of some other literature, people, etc. Ultimately, I believe that if you truly enjoyed this movie, you would also enjoy this book in that it does take you a tad further down the rabbit hole.

I don't usually take the time to write reviews but seeing as this is the worst book I've read in a really long time, it seemed warranted. If you're looking for a book that expands upon the theories presented in the film, you've come to the wrong place. The so-called author takes excerpts from various writings (not her own, of course) and then throws in some propaganda for the controversy surrounding the "physicists" interviewed in the film. It was presumptuous and completely devoid of any originality. Please do yourself a favor and save the $10, it's honestly not worth it. Oh, and I would have rated it with zero stars but Amazon requires at least one. What a waste!!! You'd have a better time having all of your nose hairs pulled out one by one.

"Beyond the Bleep" by Alexandra Bruce highlights orchestrated objective reduction, wavefunction collapse, and many other clear, understandable explanations about various aspects of New Science.
Science and spirituality verify one another and ultimately the power is brought back to the individual as co-creator with the universe.
Highly recommended!

The film "What the Bleep do We Know", left me a little disappointed. The claims were outlandish, and I was left somewhat skeptical. But while the film has its weak points, this little book by Alexandra Bruce shines brightly.
Bruce's "Beyond the Bleep" is like a miniature encyclopedia full for a rich content that sets the film right. And her full book is reasonably priced, considering what it contains.
Her first Chapter described the incredible phenomenon that surrounded the film. And she follows it with a highly readable account of quantum mechanics. These would be enough to please the reader, but she follow with additional chapters on each of 12 film personalities. She is very even handed with her accounts, and ends with a short conclusion.
Film personality, David Albert, was treated very fairly. Albert had some disagreements with the trendy claims made by the film (as I did), which is understandable. Bruce set the record straight for him. Fred Alan Wolf, author of many trendy books, is probably also delighted by Bruce's (page 26) presentation: "he is the Teflon physicist, who for over twenty years has managed to purvey his blend of quantum physics, anthropology and spiritualism without stirring up the bile of the orthodoxy". Wolf, no doubt welcomes the trends, and provides a balance to the more conservative Albert.
