Chazz Palminteri wrote the script for this excellent story of an Italian American boy (Lillo Brancato) who grows up in the 1960s caught between the strong influences of his blue-collar, straight- arrow father (Robert De Niro) and a Mafia chieftain (Palminteri) who is his all-purpose mentor. De Niro makes his directorial debut with this production and, except for a little stiffness, does very well by the characters and their world. The story does not go precisely where one might expect it to go: Palminteri knows better than to force the central figure to choose between the two most important men in his life, and he doesn't fill time with stock drama about crime or family conflict. Joe Pesci makes an extremely effective and uncredited appearance at the end as a man who doesn't have to do more than speak softly to communicate how dangerous he is. --Tom Keogh

I had trouble finding this DVD at live stores. It was great to get it so fast and brand new.

A "Bronx Tale" is more than just a mob movie. It tells a complete story of growing up in a Bronx neighborhood during the 50's and 60's, and the choices different ethnic backgrounds are forced to make. A great cast combined with a great soundtrack,and location shooting make this a must have film.

This is a really great movie. It has the mobster lifestyle mixed in with everyday regular family life in the Bronx. With a father's struggle trying to keep his son from being lured into the glamour of a mobster's life. The son learns valuable life lessons throughout the movie living his life in a marginal way with both the good and bad. All in all it is a great movie in my opinion.

This was a hard to find video. Not only was the product delivered FAST (ordered 12/19)just before Christmas but we needed a replacement due to post office accident and THAT SECOND COPY arrived before Christmas also! Thanks for everything.

I love this movie and been looking in stores for it, but its discontinued. So i turn to the internet and found it to my suprise
