Chalk that status up to the great English composer John Barry, whose lushly romantic score has largely overshadowed the film it was written for. Note to Titanic fans: if you liked the score for that film, you may fall in love with (or to) this one as well. Rating: - Somewhere in Time We usually travel to Mackinaw Island once a year and stay at the Grand Hotel where this movie was filmed. There are no cars allowed, just horse and buggies and bicycles, so it really feels like a trip back in time. The movie and music, esp. the music, makes the whole experience perfect. It is a beautiful love story between two beautiful people...unrequited love!....could it be more perfect? Rating: - Somewhere in Time This is a truly lovely soundtrack with many variations on the central theme.Knowing the story of the film is perhaps helpful. Rhapsody on a theme of Paganini is powerful stuff. The final track with Roger Williams playing the theme from Somewhere in Time reminds us what a wonderful musician he is.
