Product Description: Take on the challenges of the links with MARIO GOLF. Choose from 10 different characters including Mario, Luigi, and Wario, and hit one of four courses. Learn the controls and hit some balls in the Practice mode, and when you are ready for some competition, play a round of Match or Stroke play. For tough competition, try to win a Tournament, and for the ultimate challenge, join the Mario Club. In this mode you start out as a student. Eventually, you will be able to work your way through the professional ranks and become the world's best golfer. Use a link-cable to challenge a friend to a round in the Versus mode. As an added bonus, the cartridge can save the 20 best shots in the game. Play MARIO GOLF, and put the action of the links into the palm of you hand.
Editorial Review: Given that most people will buy anything with Mario's chubby face plastered on it, the developers of Mario Golf could have taken the easy route with this license. Instead they practically ignored it, focusing on gameplay instead. Players can jump straight into the golfing action on one of the game's four courses, but we recommend checking out the excellent role-playing mode. In this mode, you create a character and improve his or her golf skills by earning experience points in tournaments, playing minigames, or receiving items from characters in the gaming world.
This is one of the best arcade golf games on any system, period. The physics just feel right. If you perform poorly, it was probably your fault--rather than poor game controls. The camera zooms in on the action when the ball gets close to the hole, turning many shots into nail-biting experiences. After a few pathetic rounds, we were able to get a feel for the wind and the lie of the greens. Then, it happened--we became hooked on this must-own game. --T. Byrl Baker
Pros: - Terrific, intuitive controls
- Ability to improve performance of your golfer in the RPG mode

this game is awesome. it is a very very addicting game. the grafics are great, gameplay out of sight, there are so many things that you can unlock but i wont tell you. the more courses you win the better it is for your drive, control and the stuff you can unlock. i highly recommend you buy this game even if u dont like golf that much.

I bought this game because it was on sale and after fighting over it with my husband for 4 days or so, he emerged victorious and has been playing with it every day ever since. At ages 31 and 36, we have a hard time finding Gameboy Games that can hold our attention, but I do fear he's going to get carpel tunnel syndrome soon. I just wish there were more courses available to us. Although I am trapped on the Palms course and it might take me a while to actually finish well, so we have gotten our money's worth out of this one.
