According to the liner notes, Hunt assembled these songs to reflect nostalgia for her own childhood, and, aside from the incongruous addition of Smokey Robinson and the Miracles' 'I Second That Emotion,' it's all orchestrated pop that recalls a far-removed age before rock 'n' roll. Several tunes were composed and orchestrated by the movie's music director, Nicholas Pike, who, with the help of singer Joey Gian, nearly re-creates the past. However, it's the campy good time of the Jackie Gleason Orchestra and Dean Martin himself ('Good Mornin', Life' serves as a parody of Up with People, while 'Buona Sera' is prime Martin) that best reflects this ersatz-glitzy era. --Rob O'Connor Customer Reviews Average Rating: Rating: - Return To Me The story is a beautifull moving story and the music made is all come to gethe in a movie you want to watch over and over again in which you will cry and laugh just as hard each time you watch it. Rating: - Great music Wow, I already love how Dean Martin sings - BUT - Joey Gian - what a voice. He sings; Return To Me, What If I Loved You? He also sang Here I Am (ending titles) but it wasn't put on the cd. Too bad - that's a great song of his too. I just love listening to this CD. Rating: - This is how movies should be!!! Excellent movie!! If you like a well thought out story, believable actors, good old music and a little bit of comedic fair (Jim Belushi) - then you'll love Return To Me!! Rating: - Return to Me This CD brings back a lot of memories of growing up listening to Dean Martin and othe crooners and the big bands. Very nostalgic. Rating: - Fun Music This is a really great soundtrack to listen to and sing along to at home or in the car. I really enjoy all of the different songs and artists. The movie is sweet, too.
