We have a very old "Street Pilot III". It's at least 6+ years old. The charger cord finally died so I ordered this as a replacement. It works fine.
We like it a lot more than the older cord, since this cord is *only* the charger. The old (original) cord also had a clunky large (2.5-3") part attached to it as the external speaker. It was always in the way. This is much smaller! Also, this cigarette adapter seems to plug in to the outlet better without falling out. This is an improvement on our older original adapter, which constantly unplugged itself.
For those trying to figure out if this is the correct adapter for their GPS model ... Go to the Garmin product website. You can look at the accessories and see exactly what model goes with your GPS. This process worked for me.

The design of this adapter is much better than my original one. It has a replaceable fuse now (the old one didn't). Works great with my 60C.

I ordered this power adapter for my Garmin 60CSx handheld GPS. This is the correct power cord for the 60CSx and it works perfectly! Great item at a great price.

Yes it's just a power cord that I have been using on my GPSMAP 60CSx for the past couple of years. But if Garmin had given this more than one second of thought, they would have positioned the wires (at the GPS end of the cord) 90 degrees differently. The problem I have had is that when used with Garmin's windshield mount, the cord is nearly impossible to plug into the GPS once the GPS is in the mount, so you must plug in the cord before inserting the GPS. The problem with that technique is that a plastic portion of the bracket interferes with that process - so I must bend the cord considerably out of the way while inserting the GPS into the mounting bracket - every single time I mount it. After two years of use, the wires inside the cord broke - absolutely no visible sign of damage to the outside of the cord, but they definitely were severed inside. So I took a razor knife and soldering pencil to the whole affair. I cut the cord slightly ahead of the break (you could wiggle the wire to make/break the connection, so it was easy to find.) I then cut the soft plastic cover away from the back of the hard plastic GPS connector, stripped the wires and resoldered the connection. I positioned the wires to the left as viewed from the driver's seat, and dropped clear expoxy glue carefully over the connections (test it before doing this step). After it had dried, the cable is now perfect. I can plug it into the GPS and mount the GPS with no difficulty or flexing of the cable (best) or I can lock the GPS into the mount and then plug in the connector without flexing the cable. Hope that helps another buyer.

This adapter is OEM and perfect for when i am using my GPS in the car. The cord is plenty long and the wire is nice and thick - not some thin, cheap product.
