Product Description: Move it! Move it! for Madagascar the #1 Family Comedy of the Year from the studio that brought you Shrek and Shark Tale. When four pampered animals from New York s Central Park Zoo accidentally find themselves shipwrecked on the exotic island of Madagascar they discover it really IS a jungle out there! Ben Stiller Chris Rock David Schwimmer and Jada Pinkett Smith headline an all-star cast of hilarious animals including a quartet of mischievous penguins and legions of lemurs led by the outrageous King Julien. Madagascar is a roaring good family film that you ll go wild for again and again!System Requirements:Running Time 86 Mins.Format: DVD MOVIE Genre: CHILDREN/FAMILY Rating: PG UPC: 678149456622 Manufacturer No: 94566
Amazon.com: The penguins steal the show. In the sprightly Madagascar, a mid-life crisis inspires Marty the Zebra (voiced by Chris Rock) to escape from his lifelong home, a New York zoo. His equally pampered friends--Alex the Lion (Ben Stiller), Gloria the Hippo (Jada Pinkett Smith), and Melman the Giraffe (David Schwimmer)--then escape to bring him back. Unfortunately, their attempt at damage control persuades zoo officials that the animals are unhappy, so all four get shipped to an animal preserve in Kenya...only a squad of maniacal penguins change the destination to Antarctica. The quartet end up on an island where, in addition to meeting some hedonistic lemurs, they learn about the food chain--and that Alex is a different link on the chain from the other three. Madagascar doesn't achieve the snappy perfection of a Pixar movie, but it tops most other computer-animated efforts; the collision of friendship and predator instincts makes for an unusually gripping conflict. The vocal performances of the central characters is serviceable, but Sacha Baron Cohen (Da Ali G Show) provides topnotch lunacy as the lemur king, and the penguins--voiced mostly by the animators themselves--are the best thing in the movie. --Bret Fetzer

Rating: - A hit....
My little guy loves animals and this movie was a hit. Someone recommended it to me and I am so glad I purchased it. My kids (2 & 3.5 years old) and husband love it, can't wait for Part 2 to come out in theaters!
Rating: - Madagascar
Fantastic.... Story line great, actors and actresses are better then expected, great adult humor along with the values needed for children. I actually purchased this movie new when it came out. I lent it to someone and never got it back. So I bought it again, because it is so great. I would say this movie gets watched approximately 6 to 8 times a year. Excellent Movie!
Rating: - A Disney wannabe but still fun.
Why is it, whenever another major studio tries to do an animated film it usually sucks?
Shrek is the only exception.
Madagascar is still a fun movie with great animation.
The script and story line is pleasant and fun to watch.
It's not too scary or too serious for the youngins.
All in all, it's not The Lion King but it's still good for kids.
Adults may be a bit bored by it. I was.
It's definitely worth a rental.
Rating: - According to my 7 year old son said , "It was pretty cool!"
I was pleasantly surprised at how much I laughed at this move. Very entertaining. One of the better kid's movies we've seen in a while.
Rating: - I like to move it move it
I loved this movie. My liitle bro loves it too. He's watched it at least 50 times since we got it. His favorite is the "I like to move it move it" song. I think the most ironic part is the logs that spell "HELP" and then the two logs for the "P" fall and the logs spell "HELL". I also like the last part of the movie. And i quote:
Private(pinguin):Skipper, don't you think we should tell them that the boat is out of gas?
Skipper(pinguin):No, just smile and wave, boys. Smile and wave.
(All four pinguins are sunburned, considering one of them put on sunscreen)
