A great gift for a wine lover, this powerful, award-winning tool effortlessly extracts the cork from any wine bottle in 3 seconds with simple lever action. Handles with comfortable rubberized padding easily clamp onto a bottle's neck; the lever drives the tough worm into the cork with a push and then pulls the cork out cleanly with a simple pull. Releasing the cork involves the same action, only with the handles clamped onto the cork. Ruggedly constructed of polycarbonate and reinforced nylon, the cork puller has the heft of a fine, precise high-tech tool and comes by its name, Rabbit, because it resembles a bunny's head. Metrokane corkscrews are independently tested for 20,000 cork pulls; tests assume replacement of the spiral after 1,000 pulls.
This model of the Rabbit has a velvety, silver finish, as do the four tools accompanying it. I own one of these. I purchased this for my son-in-law who loves wine. He needs a perfect wine bottle opener.

I purchased three of these as gifts this summer, and one for myself.
It is made of plastic, and works correctly one of 4 times. The little screw on cap which makes it function pops off routinely-very poorly engineered and made.

The Rabbit wine opener works just as advertised, although it takes a little more muscle than I originally thought. And what a great conversation piece! The foil cutter makes opening a bottle that much easier. The drip guard, to my surprise, doesn't fall off the bottle into your glass when you pour out the last little bit, as long as you push it all the way down the neck as far as it can go. I haven't had occasion to use the wax remover. The only piece in this kit I don't really understand is the sealer, it hasn't fit on any bottle I've tried yet. But then, I haven't tried it on a bottle of champagne yet, so maybe it will fit for that. The kit comes in an attractive case that stands up, which makes it a great gift.

If you drink wine, port, or any other cork related beverage, the Rabbit is great! It opens bottles in 3 seconds, and it seems like everyone argues who gets to use it next. This is the best deal I have seen, since it retails for about $100 in stores. Buy one for yourself, and another for a friend or family member.
