Amazon.com Product Description:
These Street Style headphones employ the comfortable and stable behind-the-neck design. They have a non-slip design, making them ideal for exercise or for a walk to the corner market. To encourage safe night-time activities, the MDR-G57Gs come with a reflective ear piece. They are also water-resistant, completing the necessary checklist for full-function sports headphones. The behind-the-neck style is also appropriate for urban and casual wear; remember that with this style you can wear a hat while wearing the headphones. The MDR-G57Gs were designed for extended wear, and, weighing in at under two ounces, you may indeed forget you are wearing headphones.

Sony has installed several technical features to the headphones to ensure a quality listening experience. The thirty millimeter drive units are large for portable headphones, and deliver deep bass, low distortion and a wide frequency response range (16 - 20,000 Hz). Sony's Acoustic Turbo circuit achieves high sonic output by utilizying sound chamber and duct technology. Ferrite magnets give the headphones solid energy at a minimal size and weight, while the oxygen-free copper cord provides high conductivity and minimum noise. The gold-plated stereo mini-plug makes sure that sound is transported fully and accurately. The gold-plated treatment also helps resist corrosion and supports the headphones' high conductivity and low noise. The five foot long, single-sided cord is plenty long for active pursuits. Replacement earpads are included.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Terrible
Earlier this fall, I was shopping around at the mall for a new pair of headphones for my iPod. I came across the Sony MDR-G57G S2 and decided to give them a whirl. Now I wish I didn't. While the sound quality wasn't bad (I've heard better from other Sony ear/headphones that I have owned in the past), the comfort was a huge epic fail on Sony's part. I know the design was to make the headphones was to be more snug for active users with the extra ear pieces but apparently the people who designed that feature never had to wear them for more than five minutes. I have gone back to Phillips earphones that slides over my ears which I find a lot more freedom and comfort than this rancid headset from Sony. The sound quality is better to in my personal opinion.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Pretty decent headphones
I bought these when the speaker in my Philips Behind-the-Ear Sport Headphones died after using for about 3 yrs. The Philips were out of stock at Target, I originally bought those at Best Buy, but they don't carry them anymore. This type of product seems to come and go more than anything I have known. Trying to find the exact same model a couple of yrs later seems nearly impossible.

I researched a little and found these here at Amazon. They work OK, but the loudness is not as high as the Phillips and they begin to get uncomfortable on my ears after about 45 min of exercising. They stay on OK, but just not as comfortable as the Philips. Also the cord is very long and does not use the type of elastic that the Philips uses, so it requires you to wind around the iPod many times.

Overall decent but not as comfortable or as easy to use as the Philips. When these die I will try to go back to Philips Behind-the-Ear Sport Headphones if they are still made.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - solid sport headphones
I bought these because earbuds don't fit/stay put in my ears and I really wanted something to wear running. I like that they don't adjust so you don't have to worry about the size getting loose over time. The earpieces are not small, but they're not like dj headphones either. Sound is okay, but when you're running outside/in a city, it's kind of hard to listen for clarity and nuance; mostly you just want to be distracted/motivated without blowing out your ear drums or missing the sound of an approaching bus. These headphones stay put no matter how hard I run, which is the most important thing. Only draw back is that they become a little uncomfortable after 15 minutes, where the earpiece starts to feel like its digging into my head a little ... but then again, maybe I've just got a melon-head

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Good, but not what I ordered
The image is nothing like the headphones. Although I do like the set that was sent to me and works in the same facion as the ones that I wanted they are not the same ones. Its still a good headphone and serves its purpose.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - The only headphones for the active person....
I live a very active lifestyle lots of running and cycling. I have tried loads
of ear buds only to be driven to complete frustration. If the ear buds aren't popping out of my ears they are constantly shifting effecting the sound during activities or the ear bud cord is too short to use during a workout. This constant battle to just hear some music while I workout was all
resolved once I purchased the Sony Sport Street Style. I wipe the earphones down after workouts just to keep things clean.
Reasonable in price and durable in use these headphones fit well and the sound is great. I purchased my headphones for $22.00 shipping included and consider that some of the best money I have ever spent.
