Editorial Review:
Description: Billy Peltzer and Kate Beringer move to New York City and meet up with their Mogwai friend, Gizmo, when a series of accidents creates a new generation of diverse gremlins. Billy, Kate, and Gizmo must once again use all their experience to prevent another catastrophe.
Amazon.com: Zach Galligan, the star of the first Gremlins, is back, along with Phoebe Cates, his girlfriend from the first film. They're both working in an ultramodern skyscraper owned by a Donald Trump clone (a hilarious John Glover). Galligan's furry little buddy is captured by a mad scientist, who not only helps it multiply, but invests the nasty, scaly offspring with intelligence and the ability to talk. (Watch for the one that has Tony Randall's voice.) What follows is imaginative mayhem that spoofs old movies, modern television, and the conveniences of postmodern technology. In some ways, the sequel is even more inventive and laughter-inducing than the original. --Marshall Fine

Rating: - A sequel that wasn't needed but I find ok at best.
I'm stuck somewhere in the middle with this one. I don't like it too much but I definitely don't hate it. This sequel is much less darker than its predecessor. The original Gremlins was down right violent at times but still maintained a bit of its comedy nature. Gremlins 2 is all comedy and seems to be more of a parody of itself. In fact, it parodies several things.
Some of the characters from the original reprise their roles and I found them to be very welcomed. The story was stale but the movie was still fun due to the gremlins wild antics. I would say this one is more towards kids than the original. Those looking for some serious horror only, shouldn't even bother with this one.
Rating: - Pretty cute
The kids will enjoy it. I liked the first one better and actually so did my son. He said there wasn't enough of Gizmo in this one.
Rating: - Funny Stuff
They are back. Those ideous creatures this time with more spunk. As a science experiment goes wrong alot more gremlins with many more powers and abilities. You will love it more than the first,.
Rating: - Gremlins 2
I liked Gremlins better than Gremlins 2, but my grandsons liked this one just as much as the first one.
Rating: - I can give you........ diseases
Gremlins 2 The New Batch is great because it breaks the mold for most sequels in that it doesn't suck and improves on the original. The Gremlins themselves are even scarier thanks to genetic engineering, but are even more hilarious than before. They balanced horror and comedy brilliantly in this movie. Also the cameos were brilliant, from John Astin to Hulk Hogan.
An 80's type Donald Trump owns the 'Clamp' building. You got to love his logo, a big 'C' squishing the earth. Anyway through a series of unfortunate events in which Gizmo multiplies from a broken water fountain, the Gremlins overtake the building and every and any mayhem you can imagine ensues.
Plus we have the great Chritsopher Lee as a genetic scientist working in the building. When the Gremlins drink his experimetal liquids, we have brain Gremlins, vegetable Gremlins, bat Gremlins, and my favorite, the spider Gremlin.
This is a fun movie and not too scary for the kids.
