Product Description: Apple's AirPort wireless networking technology lets you surf the Internet from almost anywhere in your home or business, and enables schools to provide Internet access to multiple students without installing expensive cabling. With AirPort-enabled Macintosh systems, it's a snap to exchange files or play multiplayer games at data transfer rates of up to 11 megabits per second. And because AirPort uses radio waves for communication, it can even work through walls.Add an internal AirPort Card for each AirPort Card-ready system you want to bring onto your wireless network.

I was happy to find this original Airport Card on Amazon for a great price. Apple no longer makes this model and the newer Airport Extreme cards will not work in the older Macs. I'm not sure if the opposite is true. You may be still be able to use this card in a newer Mac, but I'd opt for the Airport Extreme. The installation of this original card in my iBook G3 was very easy and it works great at home and in places with wi-fi.

I bought this airport card for a slot loading G3 iMac. It was fairly easy to install. It took the iMac a few sluggish trials before it got the connection going, but finally connected to my router just fine. One thing to note, if you use a WEP key and you're using a non-Apple wireless router, you have to put a dollar sign ($) in front of the WEP key string, or the airport card will not connect with the router. At least this is true for the linksys wireless router I have.
