Editorial Review:
Product Description: When jewel thief Franky Four Fingers (Benicio Del Toro) takes a slight detour to London on route to delivering a huge stolen diamond to his boss in New York he unwittingly sets off an avalanche of sinister and comic events that wind their way through the rough and tumble worlds of bare-knuckle boxing Irish gypsies pawn shops pig farming and... a stray dog. SNATCH Guy Ritchie's brilliant follow up to his critically acclaimed Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels exposes us to his hip and helter-skelter view of London's gangster underbelly. Ritchie's characteristic fast-paced and constantly twisting story features a madcap ensemble cast of larger-than-life characters including Jason Statham an unlicensed boxing promoter; Stephen Graham his bumbling sidekick; Alan Ford the local underworld kingpin; Dennis Farina Franky's no-nonsense boss; Vinnie Jones a legendary thug; Rade Sherbedgia a psycho double-crossing Russian; and Brad Pitt in a hilarious turn as a fast-talking gypsy bare-knuckle boxer.System Requirements:Running Time: 103 Min.Format: DVD MOVIE Genre: ACTION/ADVENTURE Rating: R UPC: 043396015661 Manufacturer No: 01566
Amazon.com: Usually it might seem a tad unfair to begin a review by referring to the director's missis. But then the missis in question wouldn't usually be Madonna--a woman whose ability to reinvent herself several times before breakfast seems in marked contrast to that of hubby Guy Ritchie. Certainly, this follow-up to the filmmaker's breakthrough film--the high-energy, expletive-strewn cockney-gangster movie Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels--hardly breaks new ground being, well, another high-energy, expletive-strewn cockney-gangster movie. OK, so there are some differences. This time around our low-rent hoodlums are battling over dodgy fights and stolen diamonds rather than dodgy card games and stolen drugs. There has been some minor reshuffling of the cast too, with Sting and Dexter Fletcher making way for the more bankable Benicio Del Toro and Brad Pitt, the latter pretty much stealing the whole shebang as an incomprehensible Irish gypsy. And, sure, people who really, really liked Lock, Stock--or have the memory of a goldfish--will really, really like this. The suspicion lingers, however, that if the director doesn't do something very different next time around then his career may prove to be considerably shorter than that of his missis. --Clark Collis

Rating: - Yikes this one is over hyped
I know this has been said before but far too many scenes in this film were stolen from Pulp Fiction, Trainspotting, Go, and the Italian Job. Remember the scene where the three guys try to rob the gangster in the bar and he remains calm and scares them away? Yeah, I liked that one better when Samuel Jackson was sitting in the diner while John Travolta was in the bathroom. Remember the part when the two guys were sitting in the car getting philisophical before committing a crime? Yeah, that was also better when Travolta and Jackson talked about the Royale w/ cheese. They even had the plot centering around a boxer for god's sake? Hello....Bruce Willis was a boxer wasn't he? Spare me people, these five star reviews are funnier than the picture.
The only reason to give this two stars is because while watching it I was reminded of happier times watching better movies. Yay Brad Pitt in another fight movie. Maybe later he'll make one with a fighting club or something similar. Hey I'm onto something there.........
Rating: - "What do I know about diamonds...I'm a boxing promoter..."
This movie is the teep of the deek, as my old Columbian friend would say. Top cast, top directing, fantastic pacing. It is good enough to make you think Pitt can act! PILATE: A Brutal Bible Tale
Rating: - Hilarious Movie
I love Jason Statham and got this movie and "Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels" to add to my collection. While he isn't the star of the movie, he does play an interesting character. I'm not normally a fan of British films and humor, but I love these films. You'll watch them over and over again and always find something new. And you will have to watch them a few times to catch everything.
Rating: - The most fun I have ever had watching a movie
I can't say that Snatch is my favorite movie of alltime, but it's up there. It has the most perfect cast imaginable, one of the best soundtracks, and a super slick directing style that makes you wish the movie would never end. There's a lot going on in the movie, but it all comes down to everybody chasing a diamond. To be honest I hardly ever thought abotu the diamond. I was too busy laughing at all the great lines from all the great characters. Bullet Tooth Tony has to be the coolest guy alive, Brad Pitt's character can't speak a word without getting me to laugh outloud, and the rest of the characters are all extremely entertaining. Usually I would rate a movie as good if there are 1 or 2 characters I like, but Snatch has like 10.
Rating- 5/5
I have tried so many times to do a review for this movie, and I have failed once again, but this time I will let you read my rambling.
Rating: - I Would Have Settled For A Caravan
A great follow-up to "Lock/Stock". Not quite as many twists and turns, but darned close. A fine film that stands on its own, but it helps to know the history of the characters. Watch "Lock" and "Snatch" back to back and you'll be in for a filmfest treat.
