This concert shows Guns & Roses perfoming at their very, very best. This was filmed back in 1992, when G & R were still in their "prime". You get an introduction, plus 10 great G & R classics, with an approximate running time of 90 minutes. Axl Rose is extremely entergentic, and performs very "aggressively" as the lead man, for G&R.
The rest of the band, all of them perform at their very, very, best. G&R "Use Your Illustion I & II", are 2 of the greatest hard-rocking concerts, you'll ever see.
This concert dvd, along with the companion dvd (Illusion II) are PURE HARD-ROCKING CLASSIC CONCERT DVDS, AT THEIR VERY BEST!!!
The line-up:
W. Axl Rose - vocals, piano
Slash - lead guitar, rhythm guitar
Duff McKagan - bass, percussion, background vocals
Matt Sorum - drums, percussion, background vocals
Dizzy Reed - keyboards, percussion, background vocals
Gilby Clarke - rhythm guitar, background vocals
The song set:
1.Introduction
2.You Cound Be Mine
3.Drum Solo & Guitar Solo
4.Theme From the "Godfather"
5.Sweet Child of Mine
6.So Fine
7.Rocket Queen
8.Move to the City
9.Knockin' on Heaven's Door (This G&R version is the best version EVER!!!!)
10.Estranged
11.Paradise City (This one is totally "AWESOME", G&R gives it all they have on this one, they hold back nothning. You get Slash coming off the stage, playing the guitar, right in "touching distance" from the crowd. He is escorted by security guards, the crowd, especally the women, are all going WILD!!!!)
If you want some good "HARD-ROCKING" fun, then, I highly recommend this one, and the companion dvd (G&R Use Your Illusion II.) Thanks!!!!

This is really good concert of GnR, with solid video and audio, keeping in mind that it took place a while ago when digital technology wasn't used.
Note that this is not actually Region 1 DVD, as stated in product description, but region ALL, s oyou shouldn't worry about your DVD player not being able to play it.
Of course, I reccomend buying both DVD's of this concert, to get the complete sensation.

This is the second part of a concert filmed in 1992 at the Tokyo Dome during Guns N' Roses Use Your Illusion Tour. It's a great concert and the boys are in top form although I'm still struggling with the odd choice of venue's to film, the Japanese crowd is just too subdued. However Axl, Slash, Duff, Gilby, and Matt give it their all and if you're a fan then this is not to be missed.
I actually prefer this (part 2) over UYI-1. Axl's voice is warmed up, although he looses it by the end and Slash is highlighted on a number of occasions. At one point jumping off the stage and shredding out Paradise City while being chased by security, it's freakin hilarious.
There's A really long drum solo which if you like drum solos I suppose is wicked and Axl is of course amazing. Strutting up and down the stage, all the while screaming with his amazing voice. I did however grow tired of his many, many costume changes (sometimes 2 per song). There is a brief backstage look at the band, Axl raps part of Rocket Queen and then we get some cool reggae beat going. I would have to give this DVD to Slash though; he gives a couple of brief interviews and is spotlighted in several solos. The camera work here is excellent, tight close ups of his hands, hitting all the cords. And the intro to a very cool version of the Godfather theme is not to be missed.
The quality of the video good and the song selection superb as we get the favourites plus a couple of lesser known's. The 10 songs included are; You could be mine, Drum & guitar solos, Theme from The Godfather, Sweet child O' mine, So fine, Rocket Queen, Move to the city, Knockin' on heaven's door, Estranged and Paradise city.
Combined with Use Your Illusion 1 this is a can't be beat concert line up that any fan will enjoy. After watching this I found myself thinking with amazement and regret that there will never be another band like Guns N' Roses... Sigh.

The 1992 Tokyo concert DVD captured what was great about Guns N Roses. their chemistry is evident as they played to a superenthusiastic crowd. The set covered their major hits and some other less recognized tunes. All however carry the mark of a band at its zenith. This DVD is the second of two DVDs and shows the second half of the concert. You need to purchase both DVDs to enjoy the complete concert. Awesome.
