Editorial Review:
Amazon.com: Charmless and dull, this adaptation of the Broadway hit stars Aileen Quinn as the depression-era moppet, Albert Finney as Daddy Warbucks, Carol Burnett as the cruel headmistress at an orphanage, and Tim Curry as a villain. The film never gets its legs, and there is no sense of setting; it's almost as if the whole thing is happening in a void. John Huston nominally directed--no doubt to make money between his smaller, cheaper masterpieces--but one would have thought he would invest something of himself in here. --Tom Keogh

Rating: - A Classic from My Childhood!
Annie was one of my favorite musicals when I was little, and I was thrilled to purchase this DVD for my own daughters. We've watched it twice this week, and it's sure to be a family favorite. The cast is wonderful and the extra features are fun. I'd forgotten about the sexual undertones of Ms Hannigan, so I had a bit of explaining to do to my kids but overall it was a fantastic purchase.
Rating: - Just as good as......
It's just as good as when I first saw it when it came out. And my girls love it now. An great classic, and Carol Burnette is perfect in it!
Rating: - Not any better this time
I was so dissapointed in this film when it was released, as were many fans of the stage show. The casting was perfect but the re-written plot and overdone direction helped to prove that musicals could not be made well anymore, thank god now for Chicago and Sweeney Todd! The Disney TV version was so much betterm it really captured the feel of the original stage play.
Rating: - I love Annie
A FILM THAT MAKES YOU SMILE, CRY AND CHEER. STORY DRIVEN MUSIC AND A BOOK THAT STANDS ON ITS OWN MERIT. A COMBO OF OUTSTANDING TALENT AND MUSIC MAKES FOR A DELIGHTFUL VIEWING. DON'T MISS IT!!!!!
