WAR ON WAX
As another in the long list of hip hop related DVD'S to focus mainly on beefs and battles , "WAR ON WAX" has to rank amongst the top contenders for best on the subject. As it covers more battles on this one disc then any "BEEF" DVD'S did put together with just as much or more info on the beefs discussed on the video. When I first happened upon this I was interested not only as a hip hop fan but also because I noticed it covered not only 2pac vs. Biggy, Puff vs. Suge, Deathrow vs. Bad Boy as separate segments, it also covered the East vs. West as a whole, unlike the "BEEF" series.
As Promised each one was discussed in detail but to my delight it also had a segment on the great CANIBUS vs. LL Cool J [who got smashed by the way]. Some of my favorite moments on the DVD happened during this segment, the people discussing this battle were funny `Canibus is fire b". also on the film is KRS-One vs. MC Shan, Kool Moe Dee vs. Busy Bee, Kool Moe Dee vs. LL, Cold Crush Brothers vs. Fantastic Five, U.T.F.O vs. Roxanne Shante', Cold Crush vs. Fearless Four, BDP vs. Juice Crew, Salt-N-Pepa s. Doug E Fresh, LL vs. Ice T Antoinette vs. MC Lyte, and a personal fav the excellent 3rd Base vs. Vanilla Ice.
Be sure to check out this very enlightening and very entertaining documentary on hip hop's greatest and not so greatest battles.
