We bought this video for our 3 year-old daughter and 1 year-old son. After watching it through the first time I was afraid that with the slow-motion videography and the Mannheim Steamroller music score it would be too "calming" to appeal to young kids. Boy, was I wrong. It has now supplanted Baby Galileo as their favorite show...at least for the time being.
If you're buying this DVD for young kids, be advised that it doesn't contain a whole lot of jumps and splashes that you might see at a zoo's dolphin show. The video is largely composed of underwater photography and ALL of it is in slow motion, even the handful of jumps and splashes it contains. However, the music is great and you won't have any reservations about letting your kids watch it over and over.

It's great to finally see this title on DVD. If you love Dolphins and Orcas or just love Mannheim Steamrollers work this is a disc for you. This is a great title to mellow out to or just watch the images.

My 3 yr old soon loves dolphons and orcas, so we have a few of these documentaries. I was very disappointed in the length of the movie (short) and that it's repetative. The titles to each 'chapter' of the movie (only 5 i think) were long. The cinematography is beautiful but too little of it! Music is very nice. Would I suggest it to someone? Probably not.

I bought this DVD as a gift for my 4 year old, as she's having a Dolphin themed party. She loves watching the Dolphins jumping and looking for food on the ocean floor. The footage itself is extremely clear, and the background music is relaxing. No lyrics, just melody-nice change to typical movies. My girls have watched this movie four times now since receiving it in the mail yesterday. It was also educational for them as we watched it together the first time, and they kept asking me what the dolphins were doing next, and what they were called. Each segment is about 5-8 minutes long, and the total movie lasts about 45 minutes. Short and sweet. And it also tells you between each segment what the names of the different types are, and where they typically live (what ocean). The first review on this DVD is what sold me to give it a try, and now I will be showing to the kids at my daughter's party! Great buy, impressed.

I loved watching this DVD and seeing the crew interact with both dolphins and orcas, as they are fascinating mammals to learn about and they did a great job on this film.
