I didn't realize that it is so bulky. it doesn't fit in a pocket. And, as other GPS-only devices, it is limited in functionality. I returned this item and got myself Dell Axim x51v and GlobalSat Bluetooth GPS receiver, which I'm pretty satisfied with.

Got my 76cs for planing trips we take with a local motorcycle club. This unit guides you step by step to where you want to go. I have owned 4 Garmin GPS's and they all have beeen great -- this one is the best with add on's like navigation software for your PC. It makes planing you route easy and down loading it to you GPE is simple. One of the best units I have had!!!

I don't need to write a review about the 76CS, it is a great tool. What is really great here is the lack of the "s" from the product description. This is really the color sensor model althought the s has been dropped. With free shipping, the deal is the best anywhere!

I purchased the Garwin 76CS, then soon afterward purchased both MapSource 'Bluechart' and MapSource 'City Navigator'. The 76CS seems to be in perfect working order, however, once I installed both MapSource programs and unlocked them, either the MapSource programs or my computer will not recognize the GPS unit. I have tried to update the drivers to no end, and I am still having no luck. I have spent around 4 hours on the phone with someone in Garmin's technical department; this has not solved my problem.
If anyone has had a simular problem with getting MapSource to recognize the GPS 76CS unit, [...]Thanks.

I purchased this with the Bluechart Maps on CD. I find it very useful navigating my local costal waters. Of course a big screen would be better, but then it would not be portable.
