GE ice maker kit IM6. Comes complete with icemaker, bucket, and valve. This is the newest GE replacement icemaker. It is fully electronic and comes equipped with a new plastic feeler arm. This kit replaces the IM-1, IM-2, IM-3, IM-4, IM4A, IM5, IM5SS, UKKIT1, UKKIT2, UKKIT4, UKKIT5, WR30X318, WR30X10012, WR30X10014, and Sears part number 8390 icemaker kits. The IM-6 icemaker produces crescent cubes that are flat on one side with a round bottom and sides.

The installation of this unit was pretty straightforward. It comes with all the necessary parts to adapt to a number of GE models, and a manual that leads you through each installation, complete with pictures. Within 30 minutes of receiving the unit, it was installed. It seems to work fine, however, we have wound up with cubes all over the freezer. For whatever reason, some of them seem to bounce out of the bin or skip across the sensor arm. A bit frustrating, but we are glad to have ice again!

The ice maker works OK, but the plastic on/off control tends to turn itself off as the ice cascades from the maker into the tray. We have to constantly monitor the control manually in order to make sure it remains on.

I installed this thing is less than 30 minutes. I didn't replace the water valve or the water line, only the mechanism in the freezer. Been working great for almost two years now. Recommend you have small hands & long arms if you have a 'side by side' refrigerator. Better yet, get your wife to do it!

Excellent product was not very easy to install as the manuel says. "install time 20 minutes to 2 hours". Well I took 2 hours or better. But thats ok it was my first time.Still having an issue with it shutting off. Keep having an overflow. I just have to trouble shoot. Otherwise excellent product. Keeps us from buying bags of ice.

The Ice maker works great. In fact, it almost makes too much ice. The ice falling into the bin is a little noisy, but otherwise I have no complaints. It was easy to install.
