Editorial Review:
Amazon.com: For their seventh release, the Australian singing troupe demonstrates more of their talents. This collection is a compilation of three episodes from Wiggles Television, a half-hour kids show that airs in Australia. Along with 13 songs (half of which have been on earlier video releases), the Wiggles appear in skits reminiscent of Barney. These segments may pose dubious educational value, but are good, clean, wiggly fun. Typical subjects include Dorothy the Dinosaur pulling a prank on Captain Feathersword, Anthony struggling with magic tricks that Greg performs so easily, and Jeff and Murray finding surprises in the sky. We journey back to when the Wiggles were kids or even farther: see the Wiggles as cavemen! The use of computer graphics and outdoor locations are an improvement over the usual studio look of earlier collections, but those who just want the Wiggles' music will find their patience tried (at 65 minutes, this collection is nearly twice as long as earlier releases with the same numbers of songs). The 2- to 7-year-old fans should enjoy seeing their favorite color-clad singers in a new environment, and the troupe has a winning presence whether singing or not. --Doug Thomas

We have a two year old daughter who ADORES the Wiggles. Although the material on this video is from various TV episodes of their show, I have to say that this DVD is magical. When we can't watch The Wiggles on TV (they're not on or we don't have any episodes left on our DVR), this is a GREAT fallback when Wiggles are requested! It's also proven itself on long car rides- pop it into the DVD player and voila! A happy two year old who requests it over and over again! I think one of the reasons this is such a popular video with kids is because it's just like the TV show. Some folks seem upset that this video is comprised of their TV episodes-- but that's why kids like it. Forget what YOU think-- how does your child react?

Hour long toddler flypaper featuring four effeminate Aussies, modern dance routines tacked to folk music, a manic pirate with a feather for a sword, and an odd melange of life size talking dogs, octopi, and dinosaurs who grow roses. In other words, your kid will love it.

...purge this poison from your mind. I've banished Barney from our house and I'm reloading for the Wiggles. This is like candy corn for the mind. They make the Elmo merchandising machine look like a lemonade stand-how can you not be cynical about the array of Wiggles crap out there? Not to mention the ticket prices they charge for their appearances. That Henry the Octopus has driven me to drink. Utter stupidity.

The Wiggles just love to have fun, every day, inside Playhouse Disney...now, three seperate episodes of The Wiggles are put together to become one big music video movie called, Wiggly Play Time.
As always, Greg's my favorite and I love the way he's the Magician King in The Wiggles World.
The (episode names) are, History, Family, and Play.

I didn't, and I was very disappointed. With four showings daily on the Disney Channel, why on earth would I waste my money on a tape full of TV episodes?
Besides, the other Wiggles videos offer something different than the formula of the TV show, and that helps maintain my 22-month-old daughter's interest when she watches them. Not so here. She's not old enough to really understand viewing a TV show vs. a video, and when I put this one on, she keeps pointing to the cover, assuming I've not yet started the tape.
Yes, the box says waaaaay down in the description that this material was culled from TV material, if you read that far. But if you're like me, you see the shiny box with smiling Wiggles faces, trust the franchise, and buy it. Oops.
If you're looking for TV show material, you'll love it. Otherwise, buyer beware! I feel ripped off, which is something I don't often say in reference to The Wiggles.
