Rating: - Les Miserables
This video obviously looks like a pirated version. Over an hour of the original video tape has been left out. I wouldn't waste my money.
Rating: - Note: No Music from Broadway Included in Movie
This movie was fantastic. Just Note however that this movie does NOT include any of the music from the Broadway Play. I bought this DVD not knowing that it was simply a theatrical verson of Les Miserables. While the fabulous music was not included in the movie the story was great and was a great dvd to watch.
Rating: - Disappponting
I am disappointed that this is an abridged version of the vhs tape version, which was also an abridged version of the tv mini series shown over a week. Sticking closer to the book than most versions, the mini series was the best presentation I have ever seen. Even so, one must remember Victor Hugo wrote Les Miserables over a period of several years in a serial format, like his contemporary, Alexandre Dumas - of which The Three Musketeers was but one of several books dealing with lives of all people involved in one gigantic story. It is unfortunate that one can only have a full appreciation of such a great story - not by watching dvds or tapes, but by reading the original by the author.
Rating: - Les Miserables..with Richard Jordan
An excellent version of Les Miserables.
Originally shown on TV in 1970's I believe.
Rating: - Les Best
This is the very best version of Victor Hugos classic. I've seen other versions, but I don't think they portray some of the truly evil people in the story, as Victor Hugo intended them to be. I've watched other versions, and the play as well. Trust me, this is the best and most exact replication of the book. It is a story of two lives, the one before Grace, and the one we live after receiving Grace.
