Amazon.com Review:
Made from high-carbon, cutlery-grade stainless steel, these well-made shears are great for a variety of uses--from cutting pizza to cleaning just-caught fish. They combine a straight edge with a serrated edge for maximum versatility. Plus, this handy kitchen tool's bonus features are numerous. A lid lifter pries under rolled metal lids to raise them quickly and easily, while its unique handle design helps grip the lids of tough-to-open jars. Other highlights include a bottle opener, nutcracker, and bone notch for grabbing game or poultry bones. Blades un-hinge for easy clean-up, and are safe to clean in the dishwasher. Ideal for trimming meat, snipping herbs, or cutting flowers, these shears are as useful for the hunter, fisherman, or outdoors lover as they are for the home cook. --Mary Park

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Great shears with long life
Take good care of these kitchen shears and they will last a lifetime. Sharp, sharp, sharp, and sturdy. We've only put them to use a few weeks so it remains to be seen if the plastic handle will crack in the same way as other kitchen shears. There is no doubt when taking these out of the packaging that they are made to last longer than the standard cheap shears that are easy to find at half the price or less. I expect these to prove their worth. I really like that they come apart for cleaning and how easy it is to take them apart and yet they don't come apart easily unintentionally.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Not very comfortable
They cut pretty well, but the grip is not comfortable at all. They'll do until I find some more comfortable.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Love it!
I know some people complained that these scissors come apart when you open 'em too far, but I can't do it with one hand. Maybe those people had giant hands? Mine are pretty big, and I have never accidentally separated the blades. Cuts great, stays sharp, no complaints at all!!

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Shears that last
Finally, a set of shears that survives in my kitchen. No cracked, cheap plastic handles. No inseparable blades that prevent washing.

Overall, a good set of shears. Perhaps a bit too much going on with them, but they do what I need them to do and they do it well.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - A Great Pair of Kitchen Shears
This is my third set of kitchen shears, replacing a pair of Wusthof Kitchen Shears, which in turn replaced a pair of Henckels Kitchen Shears several years ago. The Kershaw shears are superior to both, IMHO, as to quality and utility. They are quite sturdy and very sharp, clearly up to any task I'm apt to put them to in my kitchen (e.g., cutting out the backbone of a whole chicken). The bone notch looks like it will do the job on chicken legs, etc., quite easily. And they're comfortable to use despite my large hands. Also, they're very easy to take apart for cleaning and easy to reassemble -- no tools required. I also like the built-in gadgets, such as a bottle opener, screwdrivers, nutcracker, and jar opener.

One comment: the Kershaw Taskmaster Multi-Purpose Shears are IDENTICAL to the Shun Kitchen Shears -- they come from the same factory. The Shuns cost about $7 or $8 more and include a plastic sheath with a magnet (to attach it to your stove, I guess), which didn't interest me.

The Kershaw Taskmaster Multi-Purpose Shears are the best I've found for the money. Highly Recommended!
