Rating:  - Misapprehension of the science gets in his way.
Here's the deal: I'm a scientifically trained (medical doctor) Christian. I have always believed "Creation--definitely; Evolution--probably." I have never quite understood why most people think these two theories MUST be mutually exclusive. The blossoming of the "Intelligent Design" theory within the scientific community is a vindication of my view, held since grade school, that creationism and evolutionism don't HAVE to conflict.
In other words while I believe the THEORY of Evolution best fits the available facts,(it IS still a theory, BTW) I have always believed that IF evolution is true, then God controlled it. In other words, I believe that "Evolution" is simply man's attempt to put into words, a methodical description of the process by which God developed His creation.
I had expected to enjoy this DVD. That being said, I was very dissatisfied with it. Although the alleged scientist whose story this is PURPORTS to have been an evolutionist, he surely does not speak as one who was ever well-versed in the science of evolution. The way he presents the animals and describes the "impossibility" of their evolution betrays a deep LACK of understanding about how evolution is theorized to work.

I really and truly appreciated viewing a video that actually utilized a speaker who was not only educated, but applied common sense while presenting the material! I found the videos entertaining as well as educational. As unbelievable as it may seem, I firmly believe that these videos are diverse enough to use for children as well as adults in a variety of settings. Very educational and VERY entertaining! A fantastic buy!!!

I am an evolutionary biologist and received this DVD set as a gift. I watched it because I was willing to give "the other side" a chance to make their point. If you're looking for a good debate or a reasonable argument for intelligent design, this is not for you. All that occurs in these videos is example after example of exquisitely adapted organisms for their respective environments and lifestyles with no other explanation than "God made them that way". Further, the host does not possess the credentials to be discussing the process of evolution, which are necessary for the approach he tries to take in order to make his argument. He claims to have taught evolution at some point in his career, with only a BS in biology. This is particularly disturbing because he goes on to say that he had never heard of assumptions until his students brought them to his attention. Apparently he's ignorant of the scientific process in general, and has no business teaching scientific topics to anyone regardless of the setting. The approach was cloaked in a scientific façade in the attempt to give it credibility to the statements being made, which I feel is dishonest. Finally, the statement that humans are the most complex creatures on earth disturbed me. This ignorant statement confirmed what I was thinking throughout the video, that the host has no right to address this topic in the manner in which he was attempting - with a voice that suggests scientific authority.

I present the above quotation to more fully express the thesis of "Incredible Creatures." Many are those who would reject this documentary with a contemptuous wave of the hand, and yet in no instance has a negative review gone to the trouble of presenting valid evidence. The whole thrust and tenor of the majority of negative reviews has been, in effect, "The theory of macroevolution very easily explains the emergence of such creatures as are presented in this documentary. Just trust me. It does."
But this is atheistic dogma, not science. Perhaps the strongest validation of this documentary, though, is the mere fact that we continue to wait with interest (but in vain) for a detailed rebuttal of it from the macroevolutionists. Meanwhile:
