Rating: - Soap - The Complete 3rd Season
Love it! Love it! Love it! One of the funniest shows ever made for TV.
Rating: - Season 3 repeats the back cover of Season 2
Soap has always been a great show and I thought that Season 3 was one of its best. However, if you look at the back cover of Season 3, it practically repeats Season 2 except with the re-arrangement of the cast's names. The result is somewhat confusing (plot lines/story arcs) and unfair (see below).
Robert Guillaume (Benson) won the Emmy as Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy for Season 2 and not Season 3. Guillaume actually left only after the first few episodes of Season 3 to star in his own spin-off, Benson (and ran longer than Soap eventually). Worse, it fails to mention that Season 3 boasted Emmy award winning performances from Richard Mulligan (Bert) and Cathryn Damon (Mary) who won Best Actor and Actress in a Comedy and failed to receive them personally because of the strike that affected the Emmy show.
The lack (or the absence) of extras is already unforgivable but neglecting not one, but two Emmy winners?
Columbia Tri Star Home Entertainment you have some explaining to do.
And [...] please note that the main stars of Soap are NOT Allan Miller, Lynne Moody, Peggy Pope as you mention the the Product Description.
Rating: - Dated Yes, but what a great show
The whole time I watched these DVD's I remembered sat was going to happen and that still didn't ruin it at all for me. The characters on Soap are so fantastic and so funny that knowing the plot really didn't matter. This is now my all time favorite video to share with others.
Rating: - is there a season five???
i love every single episode , but i,m stumped what happens to jessica ??is she executed??
Rating: - The Third Season......Ya, It Was Good!
This is a series where every episode is just so great. You have so much physical comedy you can't take your eyes away for very long or else you will miss something fantastic. The one-liners, the interaction between Chuck and Bob, the interplay between all of Jessica's boyfriends, not to mention her husband, is simply fantastic. This goes for all three seasons I have seen so far.
Season Three while not as good as Season One (When is it ever?) Is better than Season Two. At this point we care deeply about the characters and follow them religiously. We're worried about Jody's baby, and rooting for the relationship between Polly and Danny as it reveals the dark side of our culture. Season Three does have a more series air about it, but it doesn't take anything away from the laughs. This season tugs at your heart strings as well as your funny bone.
