Rating: - "I just love Addison's apples...."
I suppose there's no chance at all that we'll ever get the rest of the Mr. Ed shows and that's a real shame. For sure some of the best episodes are included in vol 2, including my all-time favorite 'Ed The Chauffeur', but they were all good, watchable, enjoyable shows and I have to believe there is a market for them. I was nine or ten years old when Mr. Ed premiered and I enjoy the show as much today as I did back then. Some of the episodes with the Addisons living next door were real classics, but they are nowhere to be found in either of these sets. I don't know why the studios find satisfaction in teasing us with a sampling of shows we love when they have no intention of following through with the rest. Ahh, well, Leave it to Beaver fared no better and it was another family classic!
Rating: - Mr Ed Volume 2
Wonderful classic comedy from some of the best years in television and they got his mouth to move with PEANUT BUTTER? There is no creativity I know of like that on television today!
Rating: - Larf a minute with Mr Ed.
I have been a Mr Ed fan for many years. Unfortunately they do not play the repeats on free to air TV in Australia, so watching my old favorites again on DVD has been like coming home!
I love that the humour is completely goofy, I am a horse lover so the fact Mr ED is both handsome and extremely talented captures me too.
My elderly mother who suffers from dementia has difficulty following the story line of most movies - especially those with a complicated story line. Whereas something like Mr Ed will keep her amused for hours and she gets a great laugh out of it too.
Thumbs up all round! And GREAT value for the price too.
Rating: - Straight from the Horse's Mouth
Not as funny as the first season but still very good family fare.
Rating: - A Horse is A Horse...
and so is a "season"! While "Mr. Ed" is a one of a kind classic no matter how you look at it, these wonderfully enchanting shows need to be season by season - not "best of". I bought this for my niece, 9, who is a horse fanatic and she loves it -- even in black and white!!! I also bought her the Volume 1 "best of". If not for my love of her and her love of horses, I would have passed. Sorry Ed!
