After a lifetime of cats and trying all the products we finally found this one. F.O.N. does work. You do however have to follow the instructions. It says not to clean the spot first with anything else or it will not work. Just blot the spot with paper towels and apply the spray, which is how we use it. We do however apply more than a spray -we soak the area and leave it as long as we can and it works great. It does mean the small 8oz bottles are not nearly enough so we buy the bigger bottles.

Since moving to a new house, two of our five cats (both neutered males) began spraying. First, it was on our new couch (grrrr!), then on window shades and curtains (enough, already!). The vet examined them (consult yours first, in case of UTI), and it was definitely a marking/psychological cause. Feliway spray and plug-in helped, but to get rid of the odor, we tried everything, from washing with bleach to dousing with Nature's Miracle. We could still smell the pee, and therefore, so could they (and thus, the cycle continued). Finally, using the FON worked! Just saturate the area, wait 3 minutes, then blot up with paper towels until almost dry. The next day there will be no smell at all... even on thick couch cushions! The peeing has subsided (knock on wood), but we make sure to keep a bottle or two in stock just in case.

I have hardwood floors thru out my house. When the cat pees I wipe it up and then use clorox wipes on the floot. The directions say not to disinfect the spot, but I'm afraid it will smell if I don't. After I spray the hardwood floor I blot the product a little. When it dries you can see where I sprayed the product. It has helped me, but we haven't eliminated the problem.

I have an older cat that sprays. He was an outside cat until I rescued him so I don't know his background. I was desperate to find something that would remove this terrible odor and had tried all the name brand odor removers. I applied F.O.N. as directed and it seemed to help for a day or so and then the odor would return. The bottles are small. Perhaps there was not enough product to really tell if F.O.N. works.
