The film's plot remains largely intact, but its core songs ('Knights of the Round Table,' 'Brave Sir Robin') and comic thrust have been both expanded and satirically redirected, a musical comedy shotgun that takes dizzy aim at pop culture in general, and Broadway in particular. After typically Pythonesque distractions that somehow find us in 'Finland..,' stars David Hyde-Pierce, Tim Curry, Hank Azaria and company get busy conjuring the Lady of the Lake with the unlikely help of 'Laker Girls..,' while cast members Sara Ramirez and Christopher Sieber deliciously skewer contemporary Broadway cliches via the loopy showstopper 'The Song That Goes Like This,' a tune whose reprise also deliciously sends up every overwrought stage diva from Merman to Minelli. Idle has shrewdly ripped off--well, interpolated--Life of Brian's 'Always Look On the Bright Side' for the new show, and even a snatch of 'The Lumberjack Song' in 'He Is Not Dead Yet.' 'You Won't Succeed on Broadway' reveals the frankly Semitic secret to stage success, and the French get can-canned on 'Run Away!' Rating: - Monty Python Both of my sons collect "everything" for Monty Python and they were thrilled to get these gifts from me. One good thing about "Amazon.com" is that you can always find what you need here when you can't find it anywhere else!!! Rating: - their not dead yet I recently saw the 2008 tour production of Spamalot with my family. I would have liked to obtained a CD/DVD of that, but the 2005 version is just as good. I purchased two CD's because I knew my kids would take it and I'd never be able to listen to it. Good thing I did. Rating: - LOVE this play, and the CD We saw SPAMALOT twice in Vegas and wanted to hear some of the songs again. This CD brought back all the fond memories and is very well done! Rating: - LAS VEGAS REVIEW Just saw it in Vegas! the show was excellent even though we got the understudy. The only thing i had a problem with was that we paid twice as much for the tickets to get these so-called VIP tickets that were incredibly lame. First we were suppose to get a grail souvener with a free drink in it. When we got there everyone had one and they were about 4 dollars. Plus the free drink was limited to soda or beer. We wished we bought regular tickets at this point. Then after the show we were suppose to be allowed backstage. the only person we got to meet was this twit of a dancer who called us retards because we were being so quiet. plus i really had to pee about midway thanks to the grail full of soda but i was stuck in the middle.
