Product Description: What is the difference between the Pediatric Kit and the regular kit? NeilMed s Pediatric Sinus Rinse bottle has a volume capacity of 4 oz. (120 ml.), and an aperture (opening) on top of the cap of 3/32 in. (2.5 mm). Our Regular Sinus Rinse bottle has a volume capacity of 8 oz. (240 ml.) and an aperture (opening) on top of the cap of 3/16 in. (4.5 mm). Both systems are designed to give the same concentration of solution. Children or adults who feel that the volume of the regular 8 oz. (240 ml.) bottle with the 3/16 in. (4.5 mm) cap is too large, should consider trying the pediatric kit. The therapeutic benefits will be identical. Please do not use our regular blue colored packet in Pediatric 4 oz. (120 ml.) bottle. This may result in some burning or stinging sensations. Also, we caution not to use the orange colored Sinus Rinse packet in 8 oz. (240 ml.) of water, as it will make a hypotonic (diluted) solution with the potential risk of significant burning. The right packet in the correct quantity of water will make an isotonic solution and will not create any burning or stinging.

Nasal irrigation is THE BEST way to control chronic sinusitis in adults and children. It is also very helpful for acute nasal conditions, especially in children, in whom many adult medications cannot be used.
Furthermore, kids do well with this system, especially if someone else in the family irrigates, and they can use their own kid-sized bottle. My 8-year-old initially (a week ago) complained he was drowning when he did this; yesterday he loaded his bottle himself and started to show off to his brother the evil stuff he could get out of his nose with it! He is not using it regularly enough to really wipe out his infection, so we are starting an antibiotic; in the future, however, I hope that nightly use will keep his breath and disposition sweet.
My nurse's son has been irrigating for a few months now, and has gone from chronic bad breath to a clear nose.

I showed my six year old grandson how I put water up my nose and made it come out the other side. He was so thrilled and wanted to do the same thing. I just happened to have a new pediatric kit and let him try it:-) His sinuses are so much better and when he has used it faithfully, he has not had any illness. Now I call him several times a week for his boogar report. He gets lots of praise and earns the title "great boogar catcher" regularly.
