I purchased a Holmes M630 humidifier last season for $60.00 and it worked o.k. The automatic setting was very annoying-kept stopping & starting all night. I had to leave it on level 1 so it ran continuously. This winter after running it only 1 day with new filters the humistat said it needed new filters and would not pump out any moisture. This has gone on all winter. Holmes has been no help with this. I've noticed other people have complained about the same thing. Evidently a design flaw. Definately do NOT buy this humidifier.

Fan is loud, humidistat isn't accurate, and the tank broke after like 3 weeks. I barely dropped one end of it about 3" in the bathtube (while filling it, because it's long and difficult to fill in any of my sinks) and it fractured against one of the seams. I can't figure out where I need to look or who I need to talk with to get a replacement tank. Has other filters and subcomponents that don't do anything except cost you more $$. I have a $20 vicks vaporizer at my house doing a better job than this thing.

This is the noisest unit I have ever owned. We had to turn it off every night, which was when we needed the humidifier the most. I loved the appearance of this humidifier and it does the job well, but I just could not stand the noise. Don't get me wrong, I know that most humidifiers are not quiet, but this one was intolerable. I usually love Holmes products, but I sent this one back. Don't waste your time or money on this one.

The product was good but was shipped with an old filter. it was kind of urgent so did not bother calling customer care. guess have to change it once it gets bad.
But the overall performance was good, easy to handle and clean regularly.

the holms HM630-U humidifier works good to keep the humidity at a comfortable level .. it reduces static charges that are a problem in cold weather .. while it works good it has one problem .. when the humidity reaches the value you set on its display then the machine cycles on and off constantly .. this keeps the humidity dead on but is distracting .. it should have some hysteresis so that it waits until the level has dropped a few percent before it turns back on .. as it is, it runs a few seconds on then a few seconds off .. it keeps repeating this forever .. its easy to refill if you have a hose or deep sink but the tank doesnt stand up on its end while filling .. so you have to hold it .. all in all its one of the better humidifiers i have used and it doesnt use a lot of power like some ..
