Love this tool. Saw it last year when hunting and bought one soon thereafter. It makes knife sharpening possible for the rest of us. If you've used a stone and turned an edge, you experienced the frustration. This holds the stone at the correct angle you need so you never dull your knives when sharpening. You always get a sharper knife using this product. Works great on knives below 6 inches long. Longer blades take more time and effort, moving the attachments. Wish they made a bigger one for big knives. Try this. You'll sharpen all your knives.

This is a great kit! The only limitation is that there are some small knives that can't be sharpened well due to angles - this is going to occur with any kit of this type/design. I have a friend who has been using his kit for over 10 years and sharpens well over 2 knives per week with it. It does show some wear but functions perfectly. Produces a razor edge easily. I have sharpened everything from normal steel blades to titanium blades. The kit works perfectly without issues. I highly recommend this kit.

Although this kit works, I am not pleased by the quality. I believe some of the stones that came in my kit should have been rejected because they are not perfect flat stones. Some are chipped all around the edges and one of them came unglued the first time I used it. Poor quality control at Lansky IMO.

received it with the ultra fine stone separated from the plastic holder, but no problem just put krazy glue and it works fine. It had vague instruction so i went online and searched for a video instruction and then went on a sharpening spree. Every knife in my house can be used to shave. Love the Lansky system.

Thought I would write a review to point out a few issues that you need to address BEFORE you begin using this system to actually sharpen a knife. This type of system is capable of producing a consistent angle, but it must be adjusted FIRST. There are two thing you have to do. The first is to insert the rods from the bottom into the hole with the thumb screw, the bottom being the side with the stone, then you need to use a very level surface and bend and adjust the rod until it lays level with the stone surface. The angle of the stone should extend all the way up the length of the rod. This is critical as the rods are all over the place out of the box. The next thing you need to do is check the angle of the clamp itself. The angle of the part with the angle holes needs to be at exactly 90 degrees to the part where you clamp the knife. This needs to be checked on both sides. I did this using a playing card. This wasn't as far off as the rods, but still wasn't correct. You also need to re-check the rods ever so ofter and make sure you don't apply any real downward pressure when using them or the rod will bow slightly and cause the angle to change.
