My tried and true Ionic Breeze died after 5 good years of service; about the same time that Consumer Reports wrote a rotten review about it. So I didn't buy a new one.
This year I had 3 sinus infections; 3 in one year after never having had one ever in my entire life. Eventually my brain cogs clicked into sync and I realized, oh gee, maybe I should buy another ionic breeze? Yep, I bought your ridiculously inexpensive offering and I've been breathing free and easy ever since.

Do not purchase this product. Closeout Master shipped me this item twice and both arrived and didn't work. I finally just asked for a refund. Closeout Master had excellent customer service but can't control whether the product works or not.
Regardless, this is not a good product.

I purchased two of these units directly from The Sharper Image 6ish years ago after being diagnosed with a dust mite allergy. After I purchased them, I read what Consumer Reports had to say, but was shocked, especially given that I have subscribed to Consumer Reports for 20 years. This is what I do know. I am allergic to dust mites and dogs. Dust mites are a part of life, and I love dogs, have had dogs for 15 years. I have one unit next to my bed, the other in my living room. The dust level in my house decreased dramatically after turning these machines on, and my allergy symptoms decreased dramatically after turning these machines on. They have been running continuously (except during cleanings) for over six years now, and I've never had a problem. One of my neighbors has one for his son who has major allergies, and it has made a big difference for him. The other thing he uses it for; poker parties! He moves the unit into the game room, and they smoke cigars. Within 24 hours you absolutely cannot smell any cigar smoke in that room or the rest of the house.

It just came in today as an addition to my 2 other Ionic Breeze units. The product description says it's a new unit, but i definitely doubt that, because the inside was full of collected dust!
After reading a review here that someone received a dirty unit I just had to open it up and check. Voila! I'm one of the unlucky ones. It was in a sealed bag and everything, just how the new ones look like. The pull out collector grid itself was clean, but the other two fixed one inside and the rest of the internals was thickened with dust, just how it would look like when it's being used.
I don't mind just cleaning it and going on with my life, but it's the damn principle that bugs me! I paid for a brand new unit and i should deserve nothing less! I am about to contact the seller for an exchange so we'll see how it goes.
And you would think that if it was refurbished the manufacturer would do a better job of cleaning the thing!!! I also wonder if the seller knowingly sells it as a brand new unit even though they know it's not.

IVE HAD ONE OF THE SHARPERIMAGE AIR FILTERS IN THE PAST ORDERED THIS FROM SEBASTIAN SAA IN DENVER RECEIVED A DIRTY NONWORKING USED ONE TOOK WEEKS TO GET A REPLACEMENT HAD TO CALL SEVERAL TIMES SO PRODUCT OK SERVICE TERRIBLE OH COST WAS ABOUT THE SAME AS THE ONE I BOUGHT BY TELEPHONE FROMSHARPER IMAGE CATALOG ABOUT 5 YEARS AGO
