I'm very satisfied with this item. It seems well-constructed, the cable has a good length and the lock seems secure. The foam securely holds whatever I put in it without any movement / rattling. The foam has a moth-ball smell that is gradually lessening.

For the money, this is an excellent product and seems to be well made. I bought this to be in compliance with the federal Interstate transportation of firearms law, not as a primary safe. I see many reviewers complained about the moth ball smell. Yes it smells bad, but it is a corrosion inhibitor also. I do not notice the smell when the case is closed. Product works great! The only complaint I have, which most of the people who had also bought this complained about, is that the foam padding on the inside of the safe smells like mothballs. That being said, I would definetly recommend this product to anyone who is considering it and I would certainly purchase another one without hesitation. Enjoy!

I was interested in buying several of these all keyed alike, so I called the customer service number for Sportsman's Guide to see how to order these. "Glen" told me it wasn't possible.
Sorry Glen, I'll be ordering these from another vendor who can manage this order.

This product is not a vault or should not be substituted for one, but it is a good alternative for limiting immediate access to your handgun or other content. For handgun use, it is a little tight and the foam becomes greatly compressed when closed. The foam also smells somewhat, similar to a WD40 smell, but is bearable. The smell possibly comes from an anti-rust oil in the foam. It serves its intended purpose and is worth the money.
