I am a long time fan of this movie. Many years ago, the Roseway in Portland Oregon showed the film. Some people claim that the second part of the "washing that man right out of my hair number", was only on the soundtrack and never in the movie. This is untrue. I actually watched the film all four days it played.
Yet when it was released to the public on VHS - the second part of the number had been cut out. I asked the owner of the Roseway if he knew why and after he did some checking explained that there had been a fire in the area where several old movies were stored (L.A. I think). There was smoke damage in that part of the sene that could not be properly restored and thus deleated.
When amazon released the DVD (several years back) I purchased a copy and again it was not there. My sister gave me this copy for Christmas, and though the number was still incomplete, the extra material included makes it well worth the price.
For those who have never seen the film, note that it was set during world war two and has some very sad parts in it. That said, the wonderful musical numbers and overall love stories, still makes it one of the most wonderful movies ever made.

My husband was surprised this movie was available, and in wide screen! It was the perfect gift for the guy who has or gets whatever he wants. This is his all-time favorite movie! I recommend it for your collection.

This digitally enhanced version was beautiful..it didn't take away from the original movie at all.

I'd never seen this film before but ordered it based on the strength of reviews and let me tell you, it just blew me away! The cinematograhpy and sound is just so top notch. This is an outstanding restorative work of a priceless piece of Americana on film brought to Blu-ray. One can only imagine what Fox might do with the King and I and the dance piece. The sound is just so lush and dimensional for the time it was made. Just an incredible work of art. If you are a serious fan of motion pictues, this might bring a tear to your eye. WOW and more WOW. I can't wait to show this to my friends.

I had not seen the original so I don't have a reference point for comparison. Overall, I would say this was an amazing movie. The Graphics are amazing and the sound was also impressive. I'm glad I purchased it and would recommend it to others.
