I didn't want to worry about frying my iPod with a third party dock. I almost got something else, but this is the real thing and way cheaper than the $30 for one from the store. Totally satisfied with Amazon. The design is lacking, but buying this was better than a dead iPod.

This product was delivered to me quickly and although the box wasn't in perfect condition, the docking station was and it works well. Very happy with this order.

I have to give the Apple Shuffle dock four stars because it works well and is durable.
But I must ask why, to go with such a well-designed, tiny music player, they had to create such a huge dock with a long cord and a separate plug and all the fuss and bother? Why not just a little USB connector for a few dollars like the accessory makers came up with? Why so complicated? Why so bulky? Why so expensive?

I see many people like to bash this particular item. I don't know if they leave in on the floor and purposefully try to step on and break it or what. I simply misplaced mine original dock during a move and had to replace it. The first one worked perfectly well as does this one. I keep in in a drawer. It's out of potential harm so it won't break... really people. Get a grip. If it doesn't work for you then buy a 3rd gen shuffle already. For me, I'm happy. :)
