A must item for anyone interested in learning the Balisong or Butterfly knife! This all metal knife features the same weight, size and feel of a real Balisong but has a rounded, dulled blade (blade cannot be sharpened!) that is ideal for safe training! 5 inch closed, 4 inch blade. This item is not illegal under most state & local laws as it is a 'training replica' and not a functional knife. It has been manufactured with a .125 inch thick non-blade material blank which is perforated to absolutely prevent any use as a functional knife! Consult your local authorities. CANNOT BE SHARPENED!

Rating: - A cheaply made training tool
As highlighted in other reviews this item is very cheaply made - fit and finish are practically non-existent. That said, its purpose is as a training tool and so far it seems to fit the bill but the low quality does bring its longeveity into question. Also, price is a little high for what you get.
Rating:  - Great for Learning!
I got this for a friend to practice and it works great! They have had it for 8 months and NO pins have fallen out. The knife uses rivet pins, so there is no way to get them out unless they completely break in half, and that doesn't seem plausible. Overall I recommend this if you want to learn to use a butterfly knife without getting cut. Great practice tool and not bad for $20.

Total crap. That's all i can say really. THe pins fell out of the handles within 20 minutes of use (no i wasnt abusing it). Another problem following the same line is that before the pins actually fall out, the handles are far too loose anyway. If you're serious about honing your skills, this isnt a good investment.
