Editorial Review:

Product Description:
Cold Steel Felt Pen As the saying goes the pen is mightier than the sword. Indeed Cold Steel makes some mighty strong swords but this little pen makes for some clever competition. Its the biggest baddest permanent marker around! Superficially it shares many features common to most markers but appearances can be deceptive. For starters its made from the glass-reinforced plastic Grivory the same tough material we use in our Nightshadeseries and features walls that are 4 times thicker than similar markers. This means its built for impact and in a self-defense emergency it can become an efficient Yawara stick for driving off an attacker. Plus the screw-top cap will stay in place and wont pop off like a regular markers cap would when you strike a percussion blow or when obtaining joint locks or submission holds. Its easy to carry too. Just clip it to a shirt or coat pocket or carry in your purse pack or brief case. Specifications: - Weight: 1.9 oz - Thickness: 7/8 - Overall: 6 1/4 - Material: Grivory w/ Felt Tip Pen Mfg No: 91SP Manufacturer: Cold Steel

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Almost perfect
Good Cheap self-defense tool even through places like the airport or where your not aloud to have a knife or weapon, tho i would recommend carrying it for EDC because its just to big.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Just what I wanted.
First off, this is not practical to use as pen, but works in a pinch. The cap has to be screwed off, so if you want a good marker buy a sharpie. But, if you need something for discreet self defense, I think this is great. It is made of hard plastic, so it isn't going to set off metal detectors. It is hard enough so that it is going to hurt someone if you know how to use. I have no interest in carry a gun or a knife, but I do like having this with me in certain situations.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - This is cool!
Not bad for the price. Don't buy it as a writing tool. This is a great 'pen' to carry, when you work in a rough office, if you get my drift.

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - hahahahahahah
Would be a perfect item.

Except...
Except i didn't notice the size. It's not the same size as a sharpie marker. It's like a clown size marker! Bigger than a normal magic marker, won't even fit in a pocket right and forget wearing it in a shirt pocket. Worse... when you open it there's a tiny tiny little marker tip, like ity-bity little fine point pen tip.
Any coolness points for the giant marker lost by the jokes from the ladies about over-compensating.

Love the idea. Great in every way except that one.
But to me the whole idea was to have something indistinguishable from a normal Sharpie. This was way off the mark.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Cheap self-defense weapon
I wanted an inexpensive Kubotan stick to carry for self-defense, and the price was way better than the Benchmade tactical pens. Although the pen works well, it does not appear that one can get refills. Has a screw-on cap so it won't come off on impact. On first look, it appeared quite large but actually fit in my hand quite nicely and has a "rough" exterior to aid in gripping and a clip for carrying so its always handy. Since its made of glass-reinforced plastic (used for impact devices such as night sticks) and is in no way "sharp," I assume its okay to carry on an airplane, but don't know if it would be considered a Kubotan, which would have to checked rather than carried on. Will update if/when I use it for self-defense!
