reloading books are used as a guideline, for speeds and pressure .the basic information on how to reload is valuable and Hornady does a good job teaching it

This is a great book. Being a novice and having a history of buying every reoloading book old and new I can get my hands on I feel that this selection is a good purchase. If you buy their bullets then this is the book you must have on your shelf. I found it full of suggestions and descriptions that others brush over. Yes, they only mention Hornady products but if I manufactured some of the finest bullets on the planet then why even hint there is another reoloading world out there. The first book I picked up was a Lee modern reloading second edition along with a used 83 NRA reloading manual - two of the best ever written. When your safety is at stake you better read them all and the Hornady 7th Edition is pretty darn good.

Only a so-so manual. Have found errors in this book. Nice cover though. Money much better spent on Lee's manual. I reload many handgun calibers. I really don't think they have actually tested every load in this book.
